Comments about Epiphone Ltd Ed "Worn" EB-3 Electric Bass Guitar:

I purchased the worn Blue version of this and after receiving it and opening the box, I was amazed at how it looked. It just said pick me up and play me. Yes there is a heft to it and does have a tendousy to be neck heavy, but just readjust your strap to compensate like you would with a regular SG. Set up was spot on right out of the box, no prob there. Just had to tune it and I was on my way. No fret buzz experienced. I liked the idea of the chicken head selector, less prone to breakage as the standard flip switch. Since I have small hands, I was surprised at how easy I could move around the neck on this and easy to fret. I have played quite a few different brands and styles of basses and I felt comfortable on this one. If you are looking for a great bass at a good value, this one is it. It look and sound good on stage as well as practicing.

First time I saw an EB-3 bass in 'Pelham blue', my jaw dropeed. And,I had alwasy wanted the extra sustain of the 34" long scale EB3-L . The slotted headstock proved not to be the best design and few clean unrepaired ones are available This was the EB I've been waiting many years for . I'm loving it.

Comments about Epiphone Ltd Ed "Worn" EB-3 Electric Bass Guitar:

This bass got me to stray from fender basses after 12 years.. I love the finish, I couldn't believe this bass was so inexpensive and looked / played so great. Neck is right there with my MIJ jazz bass but this is better looking and so light you can't help but move around more on stage. It has a very different sound than a fender bass ( prob since its not a fender : ) ) though I've gotten close to my old tone through my rig. If you're buying it without playing it, don't expect it to sound like a p or j bass, it's just not... I would however say the neck plays very similarly to a Japan or American j bass, it was a selling point for me. Not sure what's up with the bad review on quality I had seen a few prior to purchasing and they all were in great shape. This is a bass I plan on keeping for a very long time

Comments about Epiphone Ltd Ed "Worn" EB-3 Electric Bass Guitar:

I was looking forward to the Pelham Blue EB-3. I've played the standard models, and was very satisfied with the quality for the price.

This EB-3 has so many quality issues I almost laughed. There was almost no body preparation, the edges are unsanded, other than the spot below the knobs where it must have been dropped and then a 1/4" sanded off to cover it. There is an area that was masked and sprayed a solid color to hide some type of damage. There are solvent splash marks under the finish. The blue is non-existant in some areas, showing just the silver undercoat. The selector switch was completely loose. The poly top coat shows sanding marks. And last, but not least, the neck angle is too low to allow proper setting of the action. What an absolute piece of junk. Epi should be ashamed to put something like this on the market.

Comments about Epiphone Ltd Ed "Worn" EB-3 Electric Bass Guitar:

Took a gamble looking for a sound, found it for less than a fourth of the cost of Gibson. Some minor issues just about anyone could handle are worth the effort for the pay off when you play it.
The sidewinder pickup is amazing, gives me the vintage sound I'd been trying to find. Set neck gives tremedous sustain but a bit of reach at the low end. With use the neck plays as fast as anything I have. The hardware is old school, basic and functional.
Tuning Machine broke in freight, replaced w/Gibson cheap. Bridge and tuning machine ferules popped out, just glued and pressed back in. Once the minor details were ironed out, everything else was great.
Quickly became the bass I play the most, and spent the least for it. Put Ernie Ball 125-105-85-65
and dropped to B, same tuning as my 5-string. Awesome sound w/75watt amp, and shakes the paint off the walls with 300watt amp.
