Took a gamble looking for a sound, found it for less than a fourth of the cost of Gibson. Some minor issues just about anyone could handle are worth the effort for the pay off when you play it.
The sidewinder pickup is amazing, gives me the vintage sound I'd been trying to find. Set neck gives tremedous sustain but a bit of reach at the low end. With use the neck plays as fast as anything I have. The hardware is old school, basic and functional.
Tuning Machine broke in freight, replaced w/Gibson cheap. Bridge and tuning machine ferules popped out, just glued and pressed back in. Once the minor details were ironed out, everything else was great.
Quickly became the bass I play the most, and spent the least for it. Put Ernie Ball 125-105-85-65
and dropped to B, same tuning as my 5-string. Awesome sound w/75watt amp, and shakes the paint off the walls with 300watt amp.
