Its gypsy style cutaway provides easy access to all frets while its f-holes and upright-style tailpiece pay homage to Epiphone's acoustic basses of the past.

Features:

Tonal variations are flexible between the Nano Flex and Nano Mag Pickups... You can get a very acoustic sound out of it!  The bridge is "non adjustable" . Never had an bass like that, so setup is limited to relief adjustments on the truss rod for setting up the action, unless you resort to a file on the bridge (not recommended), just a thought. I usually play frettless, this has JUMBO frets, they are jumbo.

Quality:

A nice piece of work, well constructed, no cheap feel to it at all . . . I own a 1948 Epiphone Upright, and the name plate is two tone with raised letters and sword like object colored in brown. They could have gone just this one more step further for authenticity. And it's heavy lifting! (see detail review below). But those factors are subjective...

Value:

At the current price MF is offering this for,  it's a great buy, I'm glad I got one while they're still on the shelf. From what I understand, they're gone after this.  Get one while you can!

Overall:

Rarely do I write a review, but no one else has yet on this Zenith...so,  I'd been contemplating buying one of these for over a year. Then Epi announced they were discontinuing these and MF dropped the price a bit. So, I rolled the dice and bought one of the Re-Stock ones, which to my delight was a brand new instrument. It's an overstock folks not re-stock!  shiniy new!  at least mine was. Anyway, it's a really nice bass, I'm going to enjoy it, after I get the right strings on (stocks are too heavy for me) the tonal variations, neck, playability, construction... it's all around nice! However, it weighs a ton!  well really about 14 lbs. It's the heaviest bass I own, including Fenders, a les paul and an NS CR4M! Especially when I'm looking at the term "acoustic", I was expecting something like a Godin in lightness... Maybe, I'm a bit partial to Swamp Ash...however, 2 les pauls glued together = Zenith? (in weight).  Apparently they've hollowed out some areas beneath the top for electronics, and an acoustic chamber(?), but this is not even what you could call semi hollow..I've had those, they're half the weight of this Zenith. The Zenith feels more like a solid body when picking it up off your stand or hanging from your neck.  However, it does have a special, one of a kind sound... it's cool.  Get one, but unless you have a well padded strap, you'll need a new one with lots of padding to absorb some of those kilos!
