Made for metal, made for mayhem, made for serious bottom end.
The ESP F-104 4-String Electric Bass Guitar is a great combination of price, looks, and quality. Distinctively sinister styling on the agathis body is backed up by titanic tone from the ESP SB-4 humbucking pickups. Sculpted cutaway and a full 24 frets make fancy fingerwork a breeze, while active EQ and pickup balance let you dial in just the right degree of hurt. Heavy ESP DB-4 bridge for moaning resonance.f
- Agathis body
- Maple neck with rosewood fretboard
- 35" scale
- Model name inlay at the 12th fret
- ESP SB-4 humbucking pickups
- Active EQ

After a ton of research, both online and in the shops, I found the bass that can take me to the next level. First, I was tempted by the Fender Mexican made Jazz as well as the Squier J-Bass. Then, looking further, I wandered into Rogue territory. Finally, the OLP (which is a very nice bass for the money) came extremely close. Well, then I actually visited a store and a sales rep pointed me in the right direction. He suggested I look at the ESP F-104. At First, I was a little turned off because I thought ESP was synonymous with, well, Death Metal sounds. Plug it in, play it and kick on those active electronics. I was way wrong. This bad boy can play ANY, and I mean ANY, style of music. I can pick it, finger it, slap it and pop it. It sounds and sustains incredibly. Even hammering on the fretboard is incredible. Very little setup needed. However, once done, this bass maintains proper intonation from open string to fret 24. If you are looking at a cheap bass like I was, PLEASE SAVE UP a little more and get the ESP F-104. It will quite possibly be the one that you keep for the next ten years.

This guitar is not worth the amount of money. For the same price, you can buy a more decent guitar like Viper 104 instead. The feel on the neck and strings is overly disfigured. Only reason why anyone would really be interested in this guitar would be because of the gothic design. It's even hard to slap on this guitar. Completely useless unless you're a novice with a lot of money. Do not use finger for this guitar. Pick sounds the best on this guitar, and only good at being able to play fast.

It's always dissappointing as a lefty to see a brand come out with an awesome line of guitars for right-handed people and offer only the bottom end model for lefties, but this bass is something else altogether. Even though I was looking to buy a 5 string bass to compliment my Fender Jass Bass, I decided to go with the F-104 based on it's active electronics and the sheer bad-a$$ look of it. This bass sounded perfect right out of the box, required only the minimum setup for the Drop "C" tuning that my band plays in, and when I broke it out for it's first show, it was exactly the sound I was looking for, not to mention the reaction it got from the crowd.I'd have given it a 5.0 rating across the board, because it is an awesome bass, but I'm holding out for the higher quality models that ESP is producing for righties. Even so, I recomend it for anyone who wants a bass that seriously rocks.
Ok so I just bought this bass and it's pretty amazing. Ive been playing bass for around 8 1/2 years and this is one of my favorites. I have a Fender and a Hofner but this one shows the other 2 that in the rock world this thing can destroy. No it's not exactly made for jazz or anything like that BUT it makes up for that in it's amazing sound and low humming noise form the amp. SO YES. Thi is a bass that all bassist should have
This bass is very durable and clean that it will be my 5th and last I'll ever buy or sell.
This is a great guitar. It is very atttractive and and it's very good quality. I bought this about three days ago and it's very good sounding. i would definitely recommend this guitar for everybody.
I own a older model, the Esp Ltd. F-204, it's about the same model only they don't make it anymore, this guitar is fantastic! sounds great for metal music, wouldnt suggest for classical or too much jazz. pretty good funk tho. the humbucking pickups give it a distingushed sound that can blast away to anything.
This thing is great to play, this thing also sounds great. theres only two problems. one i need a battery for it and two its not very durable. i have dropped my fenders many times with out a scratch, but this one is weak. i hit my amp with it on a turn (barely nicked the amp) and the paint is all chipped and crappy looking and one of the knobs is loose. other than those problems this bass is great so simple to play, it's not even funny!
I got this bass about 14 months ago and still love it. at first I didn't think it'd fit my style of music but when you learn to use it the way you want it is extremely versatile. I saw that most of the reviews for this item were from metal fans, which is expected from esp, but i'm a ska bassist and i love how easily this bass can be slapped. You cant really go wrong, I recommend it.
Man, i've been wanting a good bass for a long while, then i stumbled across this one. A beautiful fret board, great balance, and the two humbuckers are sure to have your brains splattered all over the concrete. SadisFaction Guaranteed. Keep the free wheel burning with this bass! /m/
I got this bass for christmas and i haven't set it down since. You want a good all around bass, this is it. By far, this is the best bass i have ever owned and even played.
This was my first bass ever. I loved the sound of it when I first plugged it in to my amp. I first began playing metal on it from Lamb of God to Iron Maiden. I then ventured into jazz, fusion, and funk. This bass plays it all. It is very sturdy, and can take all kind of beatings. This bass will last you a while. I might suggest changing the strings, to get the right sound for your style of music.
