OVERVIEW

An amazing bass for beginners or those looking for a solid short scale on a budget.

The B-4 JR is a 3/4-sized version of the beloved LTD B Series bass. Not only a great choice for beginning bassists, the B4-JR is also good for people with a smaller frame who might find a full 34 scale bass simply too large to master.

Comments about ESP LTD B-4 Junior 3/4 Size Electric Bass Guitar:

As a guitar player the full size bass with its large frets are a pain. That's why I love this 3/4 size bass. It has a good tone and the ease of play with frets like a guitar make it easy to put a running bass line with my guitar tracks. For the price this little guy Rocks.

Comments about ESP LTD B-4 Junior 3/4 Size Electric Bass Guitar:

Geezer topped out on guitar and figured I'd learn the bass, read music (that bass clef is funky, man!). So far really loving this little bass. Next to my Tele it's the same size with a smaller body. Body looks a little funny on a full size person, almost like a Guitar Hero guitar but I figure Steinbergers look weird at first, too, maybe I'll get used to it. The neck is great, tone is surprisingly good for the small body/short scale neck. It's a real bass so don't worry that you're getting 3/4 of the sound. Could the pickups be better? Yeah, sure, but for this price you gonna complain about cheap electronics? They sound just fine. Just a tone and a volume knob and I kind of prefer the tone rolled off--it sounds more "bass-y" and jazzy to me.

I bought a "class 3 scratch n dent" and I had low expectations of both the instrument and the condition. But I was greatly surprised when it showed up in excellent condition but yes with a little ding on the headstock...which I probably would have done myself in the first month. So for the money, I think it was a smokin' deal. The D string tuning machine went bad in the first week but MF was good to me and sent a full replacement set (not just one, thanks!) at no cost. New tuner fixed it up good as new. Set-up didn't suit me and raising all the strings a bit removed all the fret buzz.

Not sure I'd ever play this in public because of the rather comical small body on my size XL frame, but to play at home or with buddies, or just to learn, I'd recommend this with high marks. It's light and comfortable to play either standing or sitting and I think the quality belies the modest price. When I get to a point where I might perform, I'll get another short scale bass but for a beginner or home player this is a great place to start. The included ESP gig bag is nice to have. I'm loving this little bass and wish I had started long before now.
