Just couldn't get the right tone

        By Anonymous

Comments about ESP LTD F-414FM Flamed Maple Electric Bass Guitar:

First off this is a great solid bass. It's a bit on the heavy side but the sustain is there. I found this bass to be fairly slow while playing, and just didn't have a real fluid feel. Slap bass never had a very crisp on the low end but was alright in higher in the EQ. I liked this bass for several years until I jumped ship and went with another bass company. I could never get a standout tone from this bass which is what my style of playing is. It went well with metal if your wanting to support down tuned guitars, but if your wanting to go over the top or cut through it's nearly impossible. I tried several head/cabinet/pedal combos but to no avail. The EMGs in this bass always seemed to fall flat in all the mixes. I eventually traded this bass in for my now preferred brand, but that by no means this bass isn't a well built piece of equipment. If you're looking to get serious playing bass, this is a good choice but not the best in my opinion. If your wanting a tone with the likes of Ryan Martinie I would suggest looking at a different brand with passive pick-ups.

        Amazing Tone

Comments about ESP LTD F-414FM Flamed Maple Electric Bass Guitar:

I've had one of these for six years now. I was hesitant when purchasing this bass because I didn't want to have a "metal bass," but I can assure you that bass guitars don't sound much better than these. It's a little heavy, and the neck is a little longer than most, but it was worth it for me. I gave it a 5 for quality because I have had (literally) zero problems with this instrument in six years. I can't imagine ever switching to something else. This is now and will (very likely) always be my primary instrument.

        Dream Bass

Comments about ESP LTD F-414FM Flamed Maple Electric Bass Guitar:

This bass... Is amazing. It is easy to play, sounds amazing, and looks great. It plays slap really well, and if you pair it with a Mark Bass amp, you get a sound that will blow you away. Highly recommended.

        Gorgeous bass

Comments about ESP LTD F-414FM Flamed Maple Electric Bass Guitar:

This is a gorgeous bass... the finish and detail is superb. Nice fat frets, great sustain and beautiful nickle accessories. My only complaint is it's not very comfortable to play on the knee if you're sitting due to the design. Aside from that, it's amazing. If you can afford it, pick one up... I've never been happier with a bass.

        Awsome guitar

Comments about ESP LTD F-414FM Flamed Maple Electric Bass Guitar:

I had played quite a few guitars in local music stores to get an idea of things I would like in a bass guitar. I tried Stat's, Thunderbirds, and some other guitars in the same price range. I was a little unsure about ordering it, but I figured that I would take a chance.Wow am I glad I did. This guitar plays and sounds better than any guitar I have tried, and the action is better than any guitar I have ever played. Let me break down the highlights of this guitar.Features: EMG pickups, grover toners, and a nice solid bridge which makes a nice hand rest. The active pre-amp is definitely nice too, as it allows me to make minute changes on the fly if I want.Quality: The battery compartment was a pain to remove, but eventually came out. It was lined with what looked like tin foil, probably for shielding. Also, the mahogany body is not one piece on the body wings. On one half, it is actually 2 pieces. A minor point, but one I feel is worth mentioning.Value: Wow. For the price, I could not get a better guitar. It has an amazing sound, comparable with guitars costing double.Overall: It has a very big range of sounds, and with a nice amp (I own a carvin bx1200 with 9 band eq) almost any sound can be dialed in. It is a very versatile guitar with sweet action and a killer tone. If you are debating about getting it, trust me. This baby will not let you down. The rich sound will floor you, and the guitar is infinitely tweak able. Get it and rock out!
