Wicked looking but hand friendly.
The ESP designers threw out the standard bass guitar design and created a completely original body full of curves, beveled edges, and points in places you don't normally see on any guitar, let alone a bass. The ESP LTD F-54 Electric Bass almost looks like it was inspired by the shape of the old Route 66 signs with a twist of the weaponry from a classic Dungeons & Dragons game book thrown in for good measure. This bolt-on model is the basic model, with an ESP SB-4 pickup and an ESP ATB-1 active tone boost control knob. It is made of basswood with a thin "U" maple neck contour, a rosewood fingerboard, and has chrome hardware, including the ESP DB-4 bridge.

This bass is thin, light, great weight distribution, and has great action. I'm guessing if you're buying a guitar with this radical shape, you probably play a more "agessive" style of music,( I do) and this works great for that. Pretty decent active pick up too. All it needed out of the box was a tuneup!! O.k., now a flaw, I suppose you can call it that. In the photo it looks more "shiny" metallic, but it's really more of a duller oakland raider type silver actually. Nice guitar, for the price, very nice guitar!!
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS BASS!!! Got it awhile ago and took it out of the box and I was wowed. Then I went up and thrashed for a bit and was even more wowed. By far one of the smoothet basses I have played.
Going by the picture I exspected a very light silver color. When opening the box it looked more like it was spray painted a very dull medium gray very dissapointing. After getting past that I tried playing it, that was even more dissapointing the strings rattled so bad I could'nt tell what I was playing. Rather than put a lot of extra money into something it took me so long to get I dicided to send it back.
