Loaded with rock style and a serious bite.

Although it's name refers to a snake, the LTD Viper series electric basses are shaped more like something from a Batman episode. The double cutaway design on the Viper-154DX creates similar, albeit slightly uneven curves like the famous Bat symbol. The bottom half of the basswood body is slightly off-kilter, with the extreme beveled edges on the upper horn side and the more oblong bottom side looking as if the maple top had somehow slid to the side.

As far as providing outstanding tone, the Viper-154DX has ESP SB-4 pickups at the neck and bridge, as well as an ESP ABQ-3 3-band active EQ. It has a thin "U" neck contour and is standard scale (34"), making it easy to play for anyone of any level. Other features include a ESP DB-4 string-thru-body bridge, 40mm standard nut, ESP tuners, and all black nickel hardware. The bolt-on maple neck is topped by a rosewood fingerboard with 24 XJ frets.

Comments about ESP LTD Viper-154DX Bass Guitar:

I bought this bass 3 years ago, but back then it was called the 254 viper. ESP changed their names around and it then became the 154 viper. i think the only difference is the 254 came with a set neck. i've been playing for about six years now.. i'm not going to say i've played them all... in fact im no where close to that.. but this bass has got to be the best i've ever played. I play with a metal band now, and it is perfect for that application, but it has a wide range with the active electronics.. you could pretty much use it for any style of music... of course it still looks metal. i would recommend this bass to beginners and advanced players alike. my next purchase is definately going to be ESP... you just can't go wrong with an ESP...

Comments about ESP LTD Viper-154DX Bass Guitar:

I just bought this bass at a local music instrument shop in Terre Haute, In called "Conservatory of Music" and this bass has been amazing since i've bought it. I used to have a Fender Precision Bass (Made In Mexico) with EMG active humbuckers but I traded that bass in for the LTD VIPER 154DX and the LTD blew the Fender away big time. And before I got this bass my Fender BXR 200 bass half stack sounded so dull with my Fender P bass (and I used to change my strings and battery on my bass every two weeks). But now I play my LTD Viper bass through my BXR 200 and it makes my solid-state Fender bass amp have a tube tone. It just sounds so sweet.

want it!

Comments about ESP LTD Viper-154DX Bass Guitar:

I have been playing for 10 years and just started playing bass about 2 years ago. I miss the feel and the weight of a guitar and this bass brings it back. I've played it about 5 times and I'm buying it next week. The active pickups kick butt and the 3 band eq will dial in your sound. With you short scale nothing is sacrificed it plays better than most long scale basses.Feels good, Plays good, looks good, Price is amazing. No reason not to buy it. I gave it a 4.5 because I don't own it.
