Comments about Fender Affinity Jazz Bass Pack:
I didn't buy this new from mf, I bought it used from a friend, but it was basically brand new. He got it as a Christmas present about 7 years ago and he never touched it. He pretty much took it out of the box, and let it sit for 7 years.
Overall I am very happy, I love playing bass and i am very picky. The neck is surprisingly nice, I might have gotten lucky because I know some Squiers you can get total garbage for a neck, extremely minimal buzz, and a nice true jazz bass profile. The hardware as well is nice, tuners and bridge keep it all in check and I never have a problem.
Unfortunetly the one con I do have for the bass is for some reason the neck pickup doesn't work. I believe its simply a faulty pot because the wiring seems in check. But overall, for stock, if the neck pickup worked I'd give the pickups a solid 6.
The bass itself is almost an indestructible workhorse, it doesn't feel cheap, but at the same time doesn't feel expensive to the point you don't want to walk with it, and for that i feel makes the playability of this (especially for a beginner) phenomenal.
As for the accessories, the gig bag is amazing, its not going to break ever, its not cheaply made. The amp is nice but its only really good for a practice amp, you may be able to pull off a tiny gig with it, MAYBE.. but who knows. The cord is kinda cheap, but you can get a better one just as easy as picks. And finally the tuner is really bad, get a korg chromatic.

- Good Tone

Comments about Fender Affinity Jazz Bass Pack:
Played bass on and off for 37 yrs., bought this pack after not playing for a few yrs. just to see if I still enjoyed playing and yes I do! I play at home almost every night for close to a couple hours and love it. The bass has a good solid sound and the amp is really pretty versatile, together I get a nice punchy sound. Good price, solid value, tighten up the jack plate first though, mine fell off.

Comments about Fender Affinity Jazz Bass Pack:
Excellent instrument for those on a tight budget. Very playable. Not given a 5 star rating due to neck being badly bowed. Not sure that wasn't caused by being shipped in this recent extreme hot weather??? Adjusted the bow out and some very light sanding on the frets and the bass was good to go. Gig bag is very cheap but it is what is is. Amp sounds very good but do not expect a lot of wall shaking volume. Have heard complaints about the tuner but it is dead nuts on when I checked against a tone generator and does what it is supposed to do.
Comments about Fender Affinity Jazz Bass Pack:
Good basic set of musical equipment, everything arrived in good working condition and I've had fun with it. I would absolutely buy it again, and consider it a good value for money spent.
Good basic bass, was complete with what was needed to do as it was designed, get you started playing bass.
Everything worked right out of the box, very minimal set up and while nothing is of course top of the line, (look at the price if you wonder why) everything is still very good, very usable as a place to start and see if you want to or can advance.
Not perfect, but VERY serviceable, worked and was low cost. For the money I don't really see how you could get a much better starter set. Nothing in the set was high end by any means, but it all works, sounds good for a practice amp and sure does again do what it was designed to be, a starter kit.
Comments about Fender Affinity Jazz Bass Pack:
Overall, this bass is a great buy. It has all the things a true J bass does without the high price tag tacked on. The neck is nice and slim and the tone the pickups produce is amazing. You can use this Bass in any musical style and it will blend perfectly. And it looks like you have a true J bass.
The Bass is set up exactly how the true Fender J-Bass...the only down side is it hums sometimes but a slight turn of one of the knobs fixes it.
I got this Bass about 4 months ago when I was in search of another bass because my old one broke. The thing has great weight and a nice feel to it. Feels exactly like playin a true J bass.
Great value!! Just the right price for the next Bass Player in the world.
Comments about Fender Affinity Jazz Bass Pack:
I love this pack. It came with everything I need. The only thing I dont like is that the strap is too short for me. Great price also.
The only thing's I will replace is the strap, Add strap locks, and put different pickups on them. The only thing I need to do is replace the strap.
Comments about Fender Affinity Jazz Bass Pack:
This bass pack is a great buy for beginners. It was my first ever bass and i still have everything in the pack. The tuner stinks but I prefer tuning to the piano anyway. Even if it is a jazz bass you can use it for any style of music. I recommend it to anyone wanting to get a jump start in music.
Comments about Fender Affinity Jazz Bass Pack:
I got this bass about two months ago. It has exellent tone and is very easy to play. The bass player from my Dad's band had a jazz bass, and once I heard what this bass could do, I fell in love with it. The only problem I have is that the D string on mine seems to buzz alot. But over all it's a great bass.
Comments about Fender Affinity Jazz Bass Pack:
For a beginner bass student, I would recommend this or the Squier Precision Bass because for a cheaply crafted instrument, it is quite good. I'm not a big fan on the strings so I changed them to flatwounds and if I pluck the E string really hard, it sticks to the pickup magnets which produces a "clicking" sound. The amplifier produces a static sound when I play the low notes and it doesn't have much options on what sound you want. I don't have any problems with the cable, but the screw around the input jack on the bass becomes loose everyday and when I plug it in, I have to re-screw it back on. The strap comes off a lot so I would reinforce it with a strap lock. I do not use the headphones or the DVD so that was a waste for me but if you want to be self taught, the DVD could be quite valuable. The tuner is alright, but I would consider a different tuner with a metronome. I don't find anything wrong with the gig bag though. All in all, I would highly consider this as a beginner bass.

I got this bass for my birthday and kept it in the condition it came in the package. This guitar sounds great, looks great, ( I got the sparkle red finish) and it is a great beginners guitar and the intermediate will even be surprised. I would suggest this guitar for anyone who plays bass.
