    Comments about Fender 2012 American Standard Jazz Bass with Maple Fingerboard:

    I have had a love / hate relationship with Fender Jazz basses my whole 30+ years of playing. My first "real" bass was a 1993 MIA Am Std Jazz that I had until I sold it in 2011. My main bass is a 2008 Am Std Precision bass that is just perfect in every way. I always tended to come back to that bass for every gig - always brought it, even if it was for back up, and always ended up playing it. Until this puppy...

    The new 2012 Jazz basses feel amazing. It's actually lighter than my 2008 P-Bass. The neck feels already worn in due to the satin back. And it is fast! The case is amazing (who says that?!?) and the finish is top notch. The Custom Shop pickups, however, are the big difference. My problem with Jazz basses in the past was the the "thin-ness" of the tone. These pickups get more than enough bottom end while maintaining the Jazz punch.

    These are a little more expensive than Am Std Jazzes of the past, but I feel like they are completely worth it. I've played this next to a other premium basses ($2K+) basses and this one stands up and is a great deal overall.

    Bottom line, if you are still looking for your number one, go to bass, the 2012 Fender American Standard Jazz is waiting for you.

    SIMPLY PUT, MOST INCREDIBLE BASS GUITAR I'VE PLAYED IN 35 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE. OUT OF THE BOX ACTION WAS A LITTLE HIGH FOR ME,(PERFECT FOR SOME,I LIKE LOW), ADJUSTED THE BRIDGE, PLAYS LIKE NO OTHER. THE TONE FROM THE CUSTOM SHOP 60'S PICKUPS IS POWERFUL, YET SMOOTH. VERSATILE ENOUGH TO DO ANY GENRE.GROWLS WHEN YOU NEED IT.HIGH DEFINITION BASS GUITAR COMPARED TO OTHERS.
