A modernized classic with all the right moves from Fender.
Fender introduced the American Standard Precision Bass guitar in 1951, and its thick sound and indestructible build changed popular music. Today’s American Standard Precision Bass is the new version of one of the greatest instruments of bass heroes past and present; the modern interpretation of Fender's classic instrument refined for modern players. The American Standard Precision Bass has a high-mass vintage bridge, Fender Custom Shop ’60s Precision Bass split single-coil pickup, thinner finish undercoat that lets the body breathe and improves resonance, improved Fender tuners that are 30 percent lighter while keeping the classic look, richer and deeper neck tint for a more elegant appearance, great-looking gloss rosewood fingerboard, satin neck back for smooth playability and Fender-exclusive SKB molded case.

Comments about Fender 2012 American Standard Precision Bass with Rosewood Fingerboard:
I got the red cola with rosewood. The color is nice - not too light of a color - just enough of a darker shade so it doesn't stand out like a sore thumb. It has the stock round wound strings - I'll try flat wounds in the future. Classic precision sound - need I say more? I struggled with my decision between maple and rosewood fretboard. Without a maple to compair it too it still sounds great!
It's a precision. Volume and tone - that's it. The high mass bridge is nice.
Needed some set up. Other then that it looks flawless to me.
You get what you pay for with this beauty. Nice case - even a guitar strap, cord and necessary tools.
