Just a fantastic bass. I have purchased the surf green transparent model, and I am considering buying the other model. I have been a HUGE blink- 182 fan for a long time, and Mark Hoppus is pretty much my idol.
This is a very awesome bass. I have been wanting it for a while and I finally got it at around Christmas time in 2011. I played it at a local music store a few times, and I fell in love with it. It's got an awesome tone to it, and it's pretty much the perfect tone for the music I play. Which happens to be pop- punk.
Good action, great tone, and it looks very sexy.
Definitley worth the price. It's a tad expensive, but it's totally worth the price.

The low rating I gave for this bass is not because I am not a Blink 182 fan. I don't like the band, but I like their music. This bass, is horrid. What it is, is a Mexican Jazz body with a string thru bridge (which is a good feature, usually it's only on American basses), no tone knob (only volume), and Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound pickups. I'm not a fan of the Jazz bodies, so I could easily get the exact same tone if I replace the pickups on my P-Bass with the Quarter Pounders. So, if you want Mark Hoppus's tone, buy a P-Bass, and slap on some Quarter Pounders, by doing that, you can go outside the square and get even more different tones. This is definitely not worth the price tag. It also doesn't feel like it's a solid bass, you know, loose ends here and there. This bass' main feature (the pickups) is available everywhere for cheap.

    Amazing

Comments about Fender Mark Hoppus Signature Bass Guitar:

I got this bass used for Christmas, and I can tell you, it's a great bass. Whether you play it with a pick or your fingers (I do both) it still has that trebly, ballsy, pop punk sound. Of course, I play Blink 182 with it, but I play tons of other stuff, too, so it's versatile. But if you're looking for a simple but versatile bass, get this, but get it used. It may have some wear on it, but it plays just the same.

    Great Bass

Comments about Fender Mark Hoppus Signature Bass Guitar:

I bought this bass new in 2004 from a local Fender dealer. The original genre I played was punk pop. Green Day, Blink 182, and Yellowcard. I now play mostly Alternative rock, grunge, and do a lot of 80's cover songs. If you want a bass that stands out not only in looks but sound, look no further.

Comments about Fender Mark Hoppus Signature Bass Guitar:

Most people shoot this bass down, call it limited, cheap, tackey. Ive been able to play all kinds of styles with mine. From the punk rock that it was designed in mind for, to classic hard rock, garage, even alternative worship. I love the look, the pickups, and the feel. Once you get it set up the way you want it, theres no lettin ya down.

Don't even think it,just get it

Comments about Fender Mark Hoppus Signature Bass Guitar:

This bass is really what you are looking for. It fits with any music style pretty well, I recently discovered that goes perfect with reggae music! I got my hoppus signature about a month ago, and it's totally incredible. Plays great, comfortable, awesome sound, light and responds to all your movements way too awesome. Also, it's pickguard are incredible, they catch the sound so great. It only has a volume knob, but you dont need anything more since you can control it from your amp so that's ok. Like i said, great for any music genre, but if you are looking for punk-pop/punk-rock music don't think about it, this is your bass. I have no words to describe how nice it feels to play it, you have to try it, that's all i can say. Buy it!!!

    Know your style

    By FenderBassGuy

Comments about Fender Mark Hoppus Signature Bass Guitar:

I just bought this bass today from a local shop, it is an amazing bass, but i say know your style because if you play with your fingers which is what i did right away it doesnt sound that great, but using a pick makes a world of difference. The sound is awesome, but it is that "punk" sound so if that what your looking for then you found it. The reason I marked the value down is because it is abit pricey for a fender mexi, but so far, to me, it is worth every cent

Comments about Fender Mark Hoppus Signature Bass Guitar:

Im not a sound engineer, but iv always looked at this guitar and thought about buying it. So i did, and the second i plugged that into my new ampeg BA600 it was like my perfect sound, the tone i have been looking for. If you dont want to spend some seriouse cash but you want something that isnt overloaded with features but still has a truely good quality then you found your bass.

    Not just another signature model

    By Dave-DNA

    from Milwaukee, wi

Comments about Fender Mark Hoppus Signature Bass Guitar:

This bass should really be called a Precision Bass, as the only things Jazz Bass about it are the body and tuners. Plays as good as any Mexican Fender, the 1/4 Pound P pickup is a big plus, I use these on all my P-basses, the single volume knob really makes this a great minimalists bass. My primary bass before I got this was a '95 American Standard P with similar electronics, but my Hoppus is a bit warmer, and has been getting more use. The bridge isn't the greatest, but at least it's string-through. I didn't buy this bass because of Hoppus, I bought it because I love the concept of the bass: a P-bass with a Jazz body. The price for new ones seems a bit steep, but all Fender has jumped in price in the last 2 years (and during a recession). It would be nice if they came with hardshells, but no Mexi does. On the plus side there, it's not difficult to find a decent Roadrunner case for WAY less then the ones that say Fender on them.I don't believe P-basses are for every style of playing, and this bass is no exception. Don't let the punk aspect of its design scare you, the tone is pretty straight forward P-bass, with a bit of brightness, and all tone pots really do is take tone out of your sound. If you need to adjust your tone, get an active bass or use your amps EQ.
