Comments about Fender Modern Player Dimension Bass:
this bass needs to be judged on its own merits. don't compare to the proven p and j basses. first of all the star is the five selection pick up it has a very unique sound that fits in the venues i play classic rock, worship. a massive bridge, beautiful transparent charcoal finish with a new body profile that is small but feels very good and light. the fret-board and nut are finished with a quality touch. the head stock is stained with a vintage amber color and a silver applique fender logo unusually found in the higher end basses. the sound is bright but with no overtones great definition in delivery. it is good to see fender move away from their comfort zone. absolutely there are no issues with sharp fret edges well finished. the easy access to the truss rod is a huge plus all basses should have this standard.
