Wow...I had a 1996 American Made Standard Jazz bass, but I sold it. Years later, I got this one. This one I will not sell. It is a jazz bass with umph, hence 'power' jazz bass. Funky, punchy, clear, open...what's not to like.
I bought this bass just the other day ... I was looking for a good, solid bass with a fast neck - good, clean action - and of course - that fatty low end ... This bass has all of that - plus it was cheaper than other basses of its class. This bass not only plays well, but it is well balanced - not too heavy - and looks stunning ... I got mine in black and put a pearl pickguard on it ... it's fire ... bottom line. BUY THIS BASS. You won't be disappointed. For it's price, it's the best out there.
Ive got this bass six months ago and today is my main bass on stage, it really sound great and for slaping is better, I just have a complain the neck pick up is a little bit out of place, but it doesn`t affect the sound. This bass really works, if you want a power bass try the fender.
I have played many many basses since I have been playing (7 years). I spent about a year looking for the perfect one for me. I needed one that goud handle fast, hard punk to smooth blues or more mellow stuff. I played a lot of fenders because i narrowed it down that far but P- basses just didnt do it for me and i couldnt get enough power out of the J-basses. I was getting kinda mad until a guy that worked at guitar center pulled this out of the back because the owner that ordered it never picked it up. I knew i wanted it the first 5 seconds i played. The action and playability is amazing and it just sounded completly bad a**. I have gigged a good amount with it and it is really solid. The only reason it got a 9 on quality is because i had to adjust the bridege a bit but it doesnt matter a whole lot. I think that it is better the American Jazz and less expensive but they are a little hard to find so order one soon.
The fender power jazz bass rocks it is very bold and clear sounding. Get this bass no thought about it.
