Comments about Fender Standard Jazz Bass Guitar:
Having a small recording studio I needed a bass to lay down tracks. I have so much money tied up in my guitars and tube amps, I couldn't afford a great deal on the bass. Having had a new 65 Fender bass back in the day, I had an idea of how it should feel. My only complaint is the ability to lay down a track when it calls for fast bass picking. For some reason my fingers have a hard time hitting the strings, nothing like my 65. Even so, it does the job and I probably need to set it up better than what it is. For the money it is a pretty good buy. If I had it to do over, I would have spent the money on the American model. Even so, for those that can't purchase the American, this is a good bass.

Comments about Fender Standard Jazz Bass Guitar:
Bought used in fair condition. Set up was bad and strings grimmy. Had stored for two months in semi humid condition and some of the hardware rusted. Pick ups have good tone and signal output.
Upgraded the bridge to a basicz and switch pick-ups to active emg. Set up by pro shop and the bass is a dream. Snappy, Great balance as its not too heavy, worthy of some upgrades.
Even with the money invested was less and is overall better sounding than a American standard at twice the price.
Comments about Fender Standard Jazz Bass Guitar:
Needed minor set up out of the box, lowered the strings a little bit to my liking and poof, one awesome bass!!!!!!!!!
Standard Fender Features. Easy to dial in sound I use, I love this bass!!!!!!!!
Its a Fender!!!!! MIM or US, reguardless. Love it
Bought this while Fender was offering rebate and caught a sale at the same time. It was like winning the lottery. No need for active electronics on this bass, plays and sounds just as good as my Fender Deluxe. Love the color and everything is tight, felt real good out of the box but lowered strings slightly to my liking,

Comments about Fender Standard Jazz Bass Guitar:
Dependable, solid, good tonal variety. Fairly versatile, very playable, light action. Perfect for slapping, fingering, or picking. I got the Orange Sunburst finish, and it's gorgeous. It's a beautiful looking, excellent sounding, reliable bass, as expected from any MIM Fender. I'd gig it without a backup, for sure. Definitely a great buy for amateurs, hobbyists, and entry level professional musicians. I play it through a Fender Rumble and some Ampeg combo amp (Rumble for funk, rock, and blues style music, and the Ampeg's for worship music). I was, overall, very satisfied with this bass.
My only complaint is that it's really heavy, do yourself a favor and buy a wide, padded strap, and the ability to change the tone is too limited. It's a great buy for the money.
Pretty basic. Pickups are standard, nothing incredible, but a warm sound, with very little feedback. Captures most of your highs and all of your lows. Electronics are excellent, I haven't had any problems with them to date. The separate volumes for the bridge and neck pickups are useful, but not too out of the ordinary, The tone pot can go from fairly punchy to really even well enough, but not as good as an Ibanez. The tuners work perfectly. It has all of the necessary components for a bass in this price range, and they're all very dependable, but it has nothing extra.
High quality construction, setup, and electronics. Just a little bit of fret buzz, but I need to take it in and get the truss rod adjusted, and it'll be fine.
I got it used for $350 used, in mint condition, and it's the best bass I've ever owned. 100% worth it, even up to $600-$650. A definite buy if you don't want to shell out on an MIA Standard.
