I used this ttile in 2 references. First because there isn't enough room to give feedback about this 5X? Second because of the lack of main details about the hard of this guitar. I first took the interst of this guitar due to the fine wood works of one main color, the dark cherry and I particularly wanted an all maple neck fretboard. It seems that everyone thinks that the craving for today is rosewood fretboards. I am a professional bass modifier and I alway plan to upgrade low cost bass guitars suck as this and make them more worth the originsl value. When I first received it and hooked it up, I noticed that the neck and string spacing was entirely too close. I am a MTD bass player and maybe that with the 19MM soacing on it just got too comfortable for me, however thats my limit. With that much spacing, I can play all over the neck snd have 0 problems with finger positions. It seem that the template they use came from a regular 6 string guitar or something. Man! this neck is real narrow and the only value on it is the D'Addario strings. And they are so heavy, they almost cover the whole neck, being so close.THen I noticed the upper neck humbucker magnet poles was not aligned with the A-D-G strings, somewhat had shifted too far right. It had some flaws with the controls. Couldn't hardly tell which knobs was to control each pickup. So,, with my desperate need for a more snappy wood toned 5 string, I then decided to keep it and do a massive upgrade. Replaced the passive setup with an active preamp with VOL-BLEND-STACKED TONE-MID. Replaced the bridge with an MTD Z5 19mm bridge. Tooked the mis-aligned neck humbucker with a solid non-poled Wilkinson humbucker. I am now awaitng a more lighter gauged set of strring to help widen the strin spacing along with another string nut. End results is phenominal. CRISPY for slapping, GROWL at neck pickup. Other than the neck being too small, it will do until I get an MTD Kingston or 535 later on. If you think that string spacing is no big issue then its a good bass for small hands or beginners with the pricing. However do wait for DARK CHERRY to come in. If not, get the black for common color.
