Genz-Benz

Amazingly powerful for its size and weight.

The 3.0-10T amp from the Shuttle series was developed by Genz•Benz for professional players who require an easily transported, great sounding, and flexible bass amplifier system that is also full-featured.

The heart of the Shuttle series is the lightweight amplifier design. This 2.75 lb. amp is available as a "head only" or in combo versions, such as this one, delivering 175 watts at 8 ohms and 300 watts at 4 ohms with an external speaker cab. In the combo models, the amp chassis can be easily removed from it's combo "saddle" in seconds and carried to a larger gig in the pocket of your bass case or the available carry bag.

The head is extremely useful as a standalone unit, with a headphone output that is excellent for quiet, personal practice sessions. You can adjust the volume level and tone you hear with the preamp, and, using the Post EQ setting on the DI, you can turn the Shuttle into an outstanding preamp for recording.

The Shuttle 3.0-10T amp gives you an ultra compact combo that delivers plenty of output and tone. The ported enclosure combines a 10" neodymium loudspeaker and soft-dome neodymium tweeter in a compact 18.75 lb. package easily usable in a variety of venues. It comes with a bottom-mounted kickstand for projecting the sound back upwards towards you while you're performing.

Monster Tone in a small package

Features:

The size will fool you. This little combo is loaded with top features. The ipad or ipod input in the back to play along with songs. the headphone input, the mute switch and the tuner input are my favorite. The parametric eq is a real tone shaper!!. The three button signal shaper also adds to find killer tones. you have to play this Rig!!

Quality:

This is a well built, like a tank combo. The handles are soft to hold. The covering is tough yet looks attractive to make you look good on stage, especially at weddings and dinner gigs. The speakers produce clean clear bass without being too boomy. This Rig handled my Roland VB-99 synth bass tones without breaking up. It really is a Working bassman's rig !!

Value:

Yes, it is expensive, but it is well worth it. You wont have to pay a doctor for back problems. Also it will fit in small cars and you can buy the gigbag for the speakers and bike it to gigs and band practice, or public transportation!! Seriously, this combo gives you a big sound with the weight.

Overall:

This is truely the best combo out there thae allows you to slap, play jazz, an upright, blues and any kind of band. I bought this about 2 weeks ago and I gig from Thursday thru Sunday. I play the hotel gigs, Clubs, weddings, festivals, etc. I play with Irma Thomas all over the world. This rig has done it all. I use it whenever i can. Im totally spoiled with this Genz-Benz 3.0 Shuttle. Genz-Benz has got what bass players needed for a long time. A small rig with a big voice. ! Thank you guys for listening to the bassman. I would endorse your products with pride.

I was moving in to college and wanted a smaller amp than my Marshall MB4210.  I plugged in my P-Bass Special at the shop and was blown away.  This amp has a fraction of the controls of the MB4210, but they work way better!  The parametric Mid is where I can get all sorts of tones.  Boosting the upper frequencies gets me a "Jaco" like sound, while boosting the lower frequencies gets me tones for rock and jazz.  The "LF Boost" and "HF Attack" are great for quick adjustments based on the acoustics of the room.  At times it's not loud enough for rock gigs, so I send the tone through the DI into the PA.  My only complaint is that I felt it was too expensive, but the weight and tone are definitely going to pay off in the long run.

I first started out on an Ampeg Micro VR Bass Amp (200w) which has a more classic tone. What I love about this Genz Benz 3.0 is that it allows your bass to tone through clean, unlike some other amps that try to color in their signature sound.  It's nice and compact, but it really packs a huge punch, great mids, highs and fairly decent lows.  If you're a 5 String player, this may have a struggle getting your low end out.  The three bottons on the right are great for tonal shaping.  However, I wish there were more freq's to dial in more shaping....but that's what my Dunlop ten band equalizer is for anyway. Besides, this is a 300w Amphead.  If you're looking for something small and loud, this is it.  I'm not sure if this is the amp you want to take at a gig or even practice with a drummer, but for small jobs, this is perfect.  Overall, it's a great amp.  I likes, I recommends!  ;)

This is my 1st review ever but felt I had to tell everyone that this is an awesome amp. I used yesterday fot the 1st time at a banquet hall for a musicians birthday party for 300 people. I used my baby ampeg EUB and sounded great. I know this sounds cliche but people would say "that's coming out of that little amp". Buy it, totally worth it.

I've had this combo for several years.  It is perfect for practice and for quieter playing situations such as electric bass plus acoustic guitar.  The quality is top notch -- I've never had a problem.  The Amp itself is dead silent.  It does not even have a fan.  And the DI is very clean.  The portability is nothing short of amazing for what this combo does.  It is only a 10" speaker so don't expect too much volume but great tone.  I use it also with a 1x12 extension cabinet and that get's me quite a bit more volume.
