120 years of Gibson tradition and innovation meet in the latest incarnation of this thundering bass.

The 2014 EB Bass has deep roots in rock 'n 'roll, with its SG-derived body and chunky pickups rumbling out the low end for countless rockers from the '60s to today. Now Gibson USA blends its knack for innovation with Gibson tradition in an ingenious reinvention of the format to bring you the latest EB Bass, one of the most powerful and versatile four strings available today. The new EB Bass marries a brand new and extremely comfortable body shape to a glued-in, full-scale neck and two new Alnico bass humbuckers with coil taps for unprecedented power and fidelity. Whether you play in-the-pocket funk, warm and sultry jazz, or raging rock, the EB Bass is primed to take it on.

The 2014 EB bass features a swamp ash body, maple neck, rosewood fingerboard with the extra-special 120th anniversary banner on the 12th fret, max grip speed knobs, extra large strap button, graph tech nut, 34" scale, new Alnico rod bass humbuckers with coil taps, chrome grover tuners, and Babicz full-contact bridge for increased sustain.

Comments about Gibson EB 2014 Electric Bass Guitar:

First off, this bass is SWEET. All of the electronics are very clean with a really smooth tone, however there is a little volume loss switching to the single coil positions. extremely light weight compared to a Fender Bass. The bridge is a huge plus and very easy to adjust. the sustain is exceptional. I have heard some complaints about the fret wire being a smidge to long but it adds a little more room to play with out the E or G string slipping off the fret board. The satin finish on the back of the neck is very fast. Grover tuners and string nut are very nice, and the set-in neck allow great reach of the higher frets. Last of all the case is luxurious, not enough protection for a traveling bass player.

Comments about Gibson EB 2014 Electric Bass Guitar:

I bought this bass a month ago after playing a heavy epiphone bass. Heard that this bass had the swamp ash body and knew that it would be light, and it is VERY light. Like all basses, I needed to set mine up to my playing style and added flat wound strings and ever since this thing has a great sound and fun to play.
