As the 15 year owner of a Les Paul bass, I have always thought for rock music, these were the pinnicle bass for that sound and style. When it came time to add an additional Les Paul, this bass proved no different. For a true, pure rock sound, this bass is your weapon. Mahogony body, full fat neck and a killer set of pickups make this bass sing thru about any amp set up. Combine it with a quality tube amp and the sound just soars. The quality of construcion and finish are second to none and on par with basses costing much more. For anyone looking for that classic bass sound only a Gibson can produce, I would highly suggest a Les Paul.

I've owned quite a few basses in my day but my favorite bass I've ever owned is my Gibson Les Paul Bass. Mahogany Neck & Body. Neck-thru construction. Low, low, low frets. This thing is the most well built instrument I've ever played. Because of the construction, it has sweet tone & sustain, but what does it do best? This bass thumps. Period. What's weird is that you can get a great Upright bass sound out of it, too. All you need is to turn down the mids, turn up the highs, lock in your bridge pickup, pluck up above the neck pickup. I don't know really what to say, I've played other basses & they sound fine and all, but I've never had as much fun on any bass as I have with my Gibson. It makes you want to play.  Thanks Gibson.
