    Comments about G&L L-2500 5-String Bass Guitar:

I bought my G&L L2500 back in 2002. From day one it became my "go to" bass. I play in a variety of bands and love this bass for the various tones that sound good and are really usefull. It gets it's own unique tone, but if you want a P bass, it's there. Jazz bass, no problem. I must have played the bass for 8 or 9 years without ever putting it in passive mode. Let me tell you, it takes on a completely new personality. When you think of all the Fender sounds that you've heard, the G&L L2500 does them all and then some. (Only better!)I have many basses in my "fleet", ranging from Ken Smith to Spector, to Alembic, etc, But I most often take my G&L because it ALWAYS sounds good. Modern or retro tone all in one bass. It's almost impossible to make it sound bad!

    in everyway its great!!!

    Comments about G&L L-2500 5-String Bass Guitar:

if you do your research than you know we all like this bass and you will do well to buy it also.
think of what is important to you and your wallet and this bass will be in the top two.
the bass has every thing that I want . i really like the preamp usability .plus you can adjust
the pickup poles for each string if you need to.you can't beat the bridge also.
looking at most basses we all can find those that are beautiful or light or comfortable.
we need to find one that sounds good to us; but we need most of all is a bass that is designed
and made with quality parts and systems; that we believe will last and cause us no problems.
the G&L L 2500 is made that good. the truss rod is [ i think ] the best type there is and the
neck is made in a way to eliminate weakness, and that system of neck stability is the most
important; , why; because the other things i can fix or change. That i must have or the neck
is no good or the bass. i bought the bass for its flexible sound. adjustable pickup poles
and 3 & 2 tuners look better. the neck is the best thing to me other than stepping up to
graphite.and that is expensive. so thats how i think and you will enjoy this bass also.
G&L is making great products and continues to improve, i have had older bass's by them
and this new bass is better in some ways. yes the finish is excellent as is the case. plus now
the frets are dressed on the PIEK machine.
for me the quality is in the parts and construction .and its made in America.

    After 34 years my favorite

    Comments about G&L L-2500 5-String Bass Guitar:

I've played Fenders, Ricks, Warwicks to name a few. All great basses. Truth is, I get the the sound of any of those basses with this one here. Leo did it right with this one. Mine is Blue with a rosewood neck. Pretty much this is my go to bass for all situations now. P-bass to Rick sounds in one bass. If you haven't got the money for the US made, the Tributes are pretty nice too.

    G & L's Hot Tones & Looks

    By The Buckster

    from Lynchburg, Virginia

    Comments about G&L L-2500 5-String Bass Guitar:

I have written many reviews about bass products on this site before. I am a 55 year old active bass player that manages and plays bass for a band. With over 40 yrs. of experience playing and a collection of basses and amps I finally own one of these after my wife gave it to me for a birthday present after talking to a sales rep about getting another bass for me because I have been collecting them for years. He asked her if I had one of these in my collection. I own or have owned or played several top line tobiasses, yamahas, fenders, washburns, vesters, ibanezes, schecters,. . . too many to list. The tones that can be dialed in on this bass are so numerous you'll find yourself resisting to put this piece of work down. When I changed the batteries in this thing I thought I was looking inside of a space shutter or military jet. I carry my Tobias, my SR506, and this bass to gigs. I have fell in love with the sound/quality of this bass. The band loves the sound it produces. I mainly use this and my SR506 because this only comes in the 5 string version. Sound Techs/Engineers everywhere I play always compliment me because of the sweetness this axe produces. It is a definite. I own and play other top end basses, yet I basically play this one all the time on all gigs. When I want to play 6 strings I use the SR506 that you can buy here as well. Don't take my word, try one and see. This is not the TRIBUTE model which by the way are ok too. I play FUNK, R&B, Rock, Jazz, and Pop. I will never sell this bass. I'm planning on buying an additional one.Calvin "The Buckster" Bassman Buck/Lynchburg, Virginia

    Comments about G&L L-2500 5-String Bass Guitar:

Only bass that I've ever owned that the tone fit every style that I play. I've had it for 3 years and I can't put it down. The L 2500 is my first 5 string and my last.

    The last bass you'll buy

    Comments about G&L L-2500 5-String Bass Guitar:

I've owned the fretless version of this baby for about 4 years now. I play other instruments all the time at shops and friends' houses, but I always crave my L2500. I get sooooo many compliments when other bassist see it. The active/passive tones available on this bass are amazing. The only reason I'll buy another bass is to buy a fretted L2500.keep in mind that everyone knows the Fender name.....musicians know G&L.

    Your old bass is obsolete

    Comments about G&L L-2500 5-String Bass Guitar:

I'm the kind of bassist who always gigs with a pile of basses on the stage. Since I bought this one, they are just for show. I haven't played a single other one since I bought this G&L. It has superior playability and countless tones at the flip of a switch! Yummy!
