Comments about G&L Tribute L2500 5-String Electric Bass Guitar:
I bought one of these with a maple fretboard several years ago because I wanted to see what Leo Fenders last contribution to the bass world had going for it. First, even though its a tribute model, all the hardware and electronics are the exact same ones you get on the USA model so you get the authentic G&L sound and stability. The action, intonation and playability are superb, as is the tone. With all the tweaks you can get out of the electronics I can get pretty much any tone you could get from any Fender or Musicman bass all in one package. The blue stain is absolutely stunning and the fretwork is about average for a guitar in this price range. The neck is a thing of beauty with wonderful watering in the maple thats so deep you might even think that there are divots in the finish! So if you want an extremely versatile stage or studio bass then you simply cannot go wrong with this axe. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that this bass is HEAVY. While it balances quite well the swamp ash body seems to still have about half the swamp in it cause it weighs a ton and if you have a bad back this is not the bass for you, unless you play in a band where sitting is acceptable. The other issue I had with it is you have to remove the plate on the back, which has 6 screws, in order to change out the battery so its in your best interest to do so prior to hitting a stage with it cause its not a quick process. On the bright side the compartment is fully shielded, the wiring is solid and tidy but the only thing missing is a battery box (the addition of which may have relieved some of the weight issues!). All in all I don't regret the purchase in any way. I use this on stage frequently, along with a late 80's Fender Power Jazz Bass, and between the two I have never been wanting for another guitar (even though I have many, many more to choose from including Warwicks, Epiphones, Gibsons, Steinbergers, ect to choose from). If you're a serious musician then buy it, it's a serious bass.

Comments about G&L Tribute L2500 5-String Electric Bass Guitar:
I love this bass.Ive been rocking the Tribute L2500 for over a year now.I play a steady two gigs a month with this thing. The tone is amazing I play this Bass passive and its got some ballz. It takes some switch flipping and knob turning to to get the sound right. If your looking for heavy gain its got it.I also like the string spacing it gives you alittle more room than a Sound gear bass and alittle less room then a Fender jazz bass.

Comments about G&L Tribute L2500 5-String Electric Bass Guitar:
This bass is an excellent bass, don't get me wrong. It gives you tones within the fender p, fender jazz and music man range. No wonder it was the last line of basses Leo Fender made after selling out fender and music man.
I had a very terrible experience with my truss rod, and now I can't get the action low. From my understanding, I am not the only person to have such an experience. Worse of all is the price G&L charges for a new neck. Enough said
