With a distinct shape and deep-resonating sound, there's nothing quite like a Hofner bass. Founded in 1887, Hofner has worked to become an international leader in the development of stringed instruments, most notably their bass guitars. Instantly recognizable and enjoyed the world-over, every bass that Hofner creates has to live up to their demanding standards for quality, playability and sound. As most know, the violin-shaped bass was made popular by Paul McCartney, with music-lovers everywhere giving it the nickname the "Beatle bass". This iconic instrument is one of the most beloved of all time, but what you may not know is that Hofner offers several other bass lines as well. From club shapes to a newer updated version of their 500/1, all the basses featured here were made to impress.

Always pushing the envelope on their violin bass, Hofner has recently put out their "Contemporary Series", which was crafted to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the introduction of their famous design. Keeping the vintage appearance, but with a more modern internal sustain block, this signature bass sounds as dazzling as it looks. Warm, but with some added kick, it will redefine the way you play.

If you're looking for a more traditional bass shape though, Hofner's club series can accommodate. Options like the Ignition Club Bass and the 500/2 Club Bass Guitar will bring your music to life with their sweet woody sound and unique "staple" pickup. Finished with a single cutaway body, these basses pay tribute to the 60s and 70s classics.

There are even basses available for the traveling musician, like the Shorty Electric Bass. Offering the same neck length and warm tone as their standard basses, but with a smaller body, this instrument was developed so you could take it anywhere. No matter the size of the performance, this small instrument can keep up.

Hofner is a name synonymous with the bass guitar. Cleanly designed with an unmistakeable silhouette, these instruments have stood the test of time, and have only gotten better as the decades have passed.
