A hollowbody for today's player with vintage looks and modern feel.
The Artcore Bass series was designed for players that are used to solidbody basses but want the acoustic tone of a hollow body. The AFB200's 30.3" scale neck increases playing comfort, tone and natural low-end resonance while the acoustic body widens the palette of sounds at your disposal. The AFB200 features bridge and neck ACHB humbucking pickups that deliver classic tone, punch and extra output. The ART-1 wooden bridge gives the AFB200 an even more thumpin' natural acoustic sound. Its Sure Grip III knobs are designed for precise control with non-slip functionality and classic looks.

Comments about Ibanez AFB200 4-String Electric Bass:
Wow. I test drove this bass the other day at a local music store. I have wanted to see one of these since they came out. First of all, it is thick, basically an acoustic bass. It reminds me of the Framus Star Bass that Bill Wyman played in the early days of The Rolling Stones. I played it through a small Mark Bass amp. The sound was woody, classic 60's rock. Not for slapping or popping. Great for blues, jazz and jamming. This bass is short scale and very light. The binding and color are stunning. I own a German Hofner which cost an arm and a leg, yet I can get the same sweet sounds from this bass. I would put flat wounds or tape wounds on this to really get the sounds I like. All in all for the price this is a great bass and I am surprised it doesn't cost much more.
