Ive had this bass for close to 3 weeks now. In my opinion its the perfect bass. It is a good weight, so no back pain, the neck is very comfortable. Its thin and wide. Great action. It has many of tones. A really sexy slap tone. It also sounds good with distortion. Great bass.
I've owned this bass for 3 years and play it in church just about every weekend through an Ampeg B2RE /w a 4-10 Hartke cab - sometimes an 8-10 Berringer cab. The feel/action/playability is awesome in a bass that is relatively inexpensive. Its very comfortable and the tone can dialed in nicely to your particular sound.I am happy with this guitar. Wouldn't say it blows me away, but its also well under $1k so it's not in the price range where that is expected. For the price, its an excellent guitar. As for issues with it, i only have one; I get some popping on the mid knob as i adjust or if i bump it, prob the pot needs to be replaced or re-flow some solder. If you are a serious player on a budget, this bass will serve you well for years. I will want to upgrade someday, but this bass is "good enough" for the foreseeable future.
WOW!! This bass is incredible! The range of tones you can get with the 3-band active electronics are amazing. It looks gorgeous, pictures don't do it justice. The quality of this bass is extremely good, its not to heavy, the neck is thin and wide, very smooth and fast to. The slap tone is sweet! The Ibanez BTB 555 is a must have for all bass players!
I have upgraded to this bass and am very pleased. The sound is great and the action is perfect. This could very well be one of the last I buy. If you are a fan of Ibanez then this is the one.
I will admit I bought this used for four hundred. I am not a bass player but rather a guitarist with needs and a good ear for the low end. I love to play bass always have, but this thing makes me want to be a bass player. It is a no frills, beauty. Perfect sound and totally playable. Not particularly light weight, but I am used to guitars so...
