    Great buy!!!

Comments about Ibanez BTB776PB 6-String Bass Guitar:

Overall, this is an awesome bass. Buy it. Again, the fact that it plays much higher than its pricepoint is a real plus for this line.
Many ways to shape your tone with this instrument.
This is actually my 2nd BTB 6 string. I sold the first one and regretted it. It has massive tone and a spectacular aesthetic. Unfortunately, this one, unlike the first one, needed some set up. However, I live in Hawaii, and the first time around may have been luck. After a few days, the B and E strings sat flat on the neck. Now that my Luthier has finshed the set up, it is epic!!
I own many basses, a majority of them "boutique". For the price, this is an outstanding instrument. (more along the lines of a bass in the $1700 range). I apprecitate the value/bang for the buck.

    amazing instrument!

Comments about Ibanez BTB776PB 6-String Bass Guitar:

I own other basses from schecter, cort, fender, handmade, peavy, takamine, dean, bc rich, plus Ibanez AFB200 and BTB405 models, THIS ONE ROCKS! its good, has a nice tone to it, its workable and plays well, and records REALLY QUIET with zero noise!
It has a three band eq that lets me dial in all sorts of tones from early brit tones to ska and reggae, metal and industrial, latin riddems and beats for my brothas... ITS SOOOO PRETTY, and curvy, and NICE to touch and play with, like some of my other fav things in live... I have another btb, the 405, and it has a parametric on board, that would have been nice, BUT the electronics on this is superb!

the neck is a BIT wide, but adjusting my wrist a slight bit does the trick.... its a comfy neck.

The pickups sound a bit muffled, but thru my hartke bass attack pedal I can solve that issue.....

it plays VERY WELL, but it is a heavy beastly thing.... I play sitting in a comfy studio's couch, so I'm good!
pristine! absolutely GORGEOUS finish and nice neck!
I'd buy another if this one got jacked.....

    Skip it

    By Andy

    from SC

Comments about Ibanez BTB776PB 6-String Bass Guitar:

I have to advise skipping this one. There are a lot of 35 inch scale 6 strings by other companies that are routed for the 4.5 inch standard sized pickups and some already have good pickups in them. When a bass is routed for that size you have a whole line of options from EMG, an option from Lace, some options from Seymour duncan and many more options from other lesser known companies. I'm happy with this bass after having it modified, but I wish I could have skipped all of that.
This bass has a lot of little things that were well thought out. The battery compartment has metal for the screws to go into so it doesn't wear out. The bridge pieces are staggered to help intonation. The ability to drop the strings into the saddles is a cool feature. The locking jack I'm not so much for since it could topple your rig. The finish looks great and is flawless. The neck thru design is rather nice. The matching headstock is pleasing to the eye.
This bass has perfect fit and finish. It is aesthetically flawless and the craftmanship is excellent. The frets feel great. It is a really well built instrument. The fatal flaw is the pickups. The pickups are the worst pickups I had ever heard, which is saying a lot. I can't really describe how bad they sound, but in short they have no clarity. The stock pickups in a squier bass are leaps and bounds better than the ones that ship in these. The issue that makes that a huge deal instead of a minor inconvenience is that they are a unique size and you can't just swap them out. As soon as I got this bass in, I played it and noticed the problem with the sound immediately. I realized the pickup routes were an odd size after the return period and regrettted my purchase. I didn't touch it for a year and then took it to a luthier to have it routed for the standard 4.5 inch sized pickups. Now it is a dream, but out of the box it's a nightmare.
This bass is a lot of build quality for the money. However it takes $500 or more worth of work and parts to make it sound good enough to use.

    best bass ive ever owned

    By zachary hutchison

Comments about Ibanez BTB776PB 6-String Bass Guitar:

    BUY THIS BASS!!!!!
this bass will do everything you will ever need, the pick ups and preamp have more tone control than any active sound ive ever got out of my spectors or my conklin gt7. the neck is very thick overall but i have tiny hands and can still navigate it really well(like really small). everything has been thought of even the locking input jack the only thing i wish is that ibanez made a 7 string version of this cause id sell everything i own
beautifully executed wood work, and the finish is perfect(no air bubbles or anything) the bass came with elixir nanowebs which are usually my choice of string anyway so that was a bonus(and this is much apricated to get quality strings right of the bat instead blowing all your money and having to deal with nicklewound garbage)
killer deal for anyone looking to get an extended range bass that wont cost a lot in quality
especially cause i have a few basses like that and they are pretty much neck and neck

Top of the line bass at a reasonable price.

Comments about Ibanez BTB776PB 6-String Bass Guitar:

First of all - I could not be more pleased with this bass. The woods and craftmanship are top of the line and the fret work is supurb. The BTB looks and feels like a bass that cost much much more than it does. But all those looks mean nothing if it doesn't sound good and this bass sounds great. The Bartolini's, three band eq and 18v electronics cover just about any sound you could possibly want. The first time I plugged this thing in I couldn't believe the rich tone or the amount of headroom on the volume knob. I've played Jazz, Latin, Rock, Country - just about every style and I can always dial in a tone that sounds great. This is not a beginner bass, but if you are looking for a professional quality instrument at a reasonable price this bass is it. I have never played or owned a nicer bass than my BTB776PB and I've been playing bass for over 30 years. It has been without a doubt the best gear purchase I've ever made.

    The best basses around.

    By Anonymous

    from Undisclosed

Comments about Ibanez BTB776PB 6-String Bass Guitar:

When I saw the new BTB model in my store, I just knew I had to play it. Already owning a BTB prestige 2007 model I knew I wouldn't be disappointed, and I was right. I don't even know where to start on talking about these basses. The finish is beautiful and its neck through. The necks seem to get faster and smoother every year and the upper fret access is a lot better then previous models. With 2 Bartolini pickups and a 3 band Bartolini pre-amp, you will never need to buy another bass again, because this thing overflows with versatility. This is the true pride of Ibanez, a must buy!
