I bought the bass at a going out of busness sale at a local store. This was my first bass. I have been playing for about a year and ahalf. I also have a fender p-bass, and a j-bass. I love my ibenez It is lighter than the fenders and the neck seams faster to me. The pickups work well for rock and country but I have to go to my fender for playing funk (pop and slap). The 400 I have to slap a little harder but it sounds ok. Over all it is a great bass for a great price. I started out on this bass and still play it evertday. Rock on and DRIVE HARD tnp.
Ok I went to the local music store ,and there was one hanging there so I plugged it in and played it it was great sounding and the neck was so slick I could play anything. A must have if you have small hands.:)
when i first picked this bass up at a local music store i was surprised how light it was. then i plugged it in and it sounded awesome. i have had this bass for 2 years now and use it regularly in a jazz band through a fender bassman 250 watt combo amp which makes it sound even better. also i use it for rock, funk and blues. with the matte finish i get complements on how it looks all the time. overall a great bass.
I have owned this bass for six months. I purchased it because of its light weight and it sounds great. It is my first active bass, so the simplicity of the controls was good. The only problems I have expirenced are that the fret edges protrude a little on the sides of the fret board. Not enough to see, but it can be felt, but just barrley. Other than that, it is a great bass.
I bought this bass about a month ago, and could not be happier with it. It had a great action right out of the box, is lightweight but sturdy, the thin neck makes for fast playing, and it looks great. Got the Charcoal Brown. Has a 'Satin' type finish that doesn't show smudges or fingerprint. But best of all, this thing sounds GREAT. The Phat EQ is awesome for adding punch, and the tone & pickup volume controls allow a wide variety of tones. The active pickups are great; battery will last a long time as long as you unplug the cord from the bass when not in use. Overall, I don't believe you'll find a better bass in this price range.
One of the best basses you can buy for the price, and definitely worth much more. Very light and incredibly comfortable to play with clean, bright tone with plenty of punch and resonance. The neck is slim and very fast, and the cutaway on the lower body helps fast riffing on the upper frets. Pickups are great, the passive humbuckers actually put out more sound than the active EMGs on my other bass. Equalizer's awesome, helps a lot to tweak your sound for versatility, and has a cool bass boost knob that helps you really thump out heavy lines. This thing can handle anything from low, growling blues licks to screaming rock lines, and all in between, but really excels in rock more than anything else. Pop and slap is also very easy on this, especially because of the great setup on the action. Definitely an awesome product ... great price, incredibly comfortable and fast, great tone and features. My favorite bass so far.
Cool shape, and its incredibly light. Plays and sounds just like a J- Bass. I eventually went with a SRX-500 b/c it fit my style of music (heavy rock) more. But now that P.O.S. needs a new neck (it's brand spanking new, WTF!!!) so I might go spend some more time ( and unfortuanetly, money...) with this honey.
