I saw this bass and thought "No way." After looking around I found that it was the only lefty in the shop so I bought it. (I needed a bass) It was used and about a year old which made it even more surprising when I got home and saw how great it was! Amazing tone! I also love how thin an Ibanez fretboard is which is why I not only love this bass, I won't buy anything but an Ibanez!!!
I love this bass! It has great sound and quality. And it's left handed! I love it!
I've always wanted a practice bass, nothing special, just something that would deliver solid tone and value. After several hours of testing I landed on the Ibanez. Now I have about 5 months experience with what I thought was a starter bass, but turned out to be much more. It gets down to Ibanez quality - it plays like a $400-$500 instrument. I'm totally satisfied.
I have had the right-handed version of this bass since I became a bass player 2+ years ago. For the money, this is a very reliable instrument. It has perfect intonation (without any adjustment needed) and stays in tune. The controls are simple and easy to work with. The tone is okay for a passive bass. It has smooth tone but is lacking in punch. I've played this thing every day for the past 2 years, sometimes up to 6 hours a day and it has stood the test of time. The only problem i had was a loose wire which just needed soldering. After a while, the passive pickups can get rather boring so I'm saving up for something better, but this bass is the reason I play. It is a great starter and companion.
