I've always wanted a bass guitar, but I'd never found an instrument that wasn't just too much: too big, too heavy, too wide a neck, too big a price tag. One day, I was playing a few Fender basses (I'm a Fender loyalist) and I saw this really attractive dark silver bass and decided to check it out. Five minutes later, I was writing a check. The Ibanez GSR100 is a great sounding, lightweight, gorgeous instrument, that is very comfortable to play sitting or standing. The neck is narrow enough for my inexperienced fingers to reach every note easily, and each fret on every string rings true: not a buzz on the fretboard. As someone new to the bass, I appreciate its simplicity and easy playability. The single pickup's tone control provides a good range of tonal variety. I'm having a ball learning to play my new bass. As a backup instrument, or as your first bass, the GSR100 is a great choice.

This bass is a good bass to start out on but if you are and experienced player or you are upgrading i would suggest something better such as the Fender Jazz Bass. I began with this bass and it lasted me a good 1 1/2 to 2 years and helped me to learn alot, but after that time i began haveing problems with the bridge and the tuning forks coming loose. Also the inner electronics would constantly break and have to be re-soddered on. So overall, this product is to to begin with but not in the long run.

I have been playing bass for 30 years, and I ordered the GSR100Z thinking the write up was too good for such a discount price. The bass is exceptional. The bass rings beautifully, and is rock solid. I played it through a 500 watt Markman Look out Fender, this is a Roco all the way.
Very simple, easy to work with, and it's not just a stock brand like a Johnson or some other no name brand. To me, there were no edge glue marks - very clean, sounded great has good pickup. Ideal buy for beginners.
i have owned this bass for a couple of years now. i learned on it and now have a fender p-bass but still love this ibanez.
Well I've had this bass a little over a year and it's already falling apart. The input jack comes loose all the time, the pick-ups give off a lot of feed back which is very annoying. It doesn't stay in tune very well and the E string sounds very weird. Don't waste you money on this junk it's not worth it save your money and buy something better.
This is the best bass a Begginner can get, Id reccomend an effects pedal to get more sound out of the guitar as its tone variation kinda stinks. I own this bass and have had it for a good 5 months and broke the strings but I was being really hard on it, Id reccomend a dunlop strap lock, Ernie Ball Super Slinky Strings and a good leather strap, when you get it take it to a local shop and have them adjust everything for you and it will play like a dream. BEST GUITAR YOULL EVER FIND FOR THIS PRICE DONT PASS IT UP!!!
I started playing in May, and this bass is great for beginners. Looks sweet and sounds really good, plus you can't beat the price!
i got this bass about a month ago and it has good sound and value for price. it also has a slick fast neck for good playing speed.
i've just bought it and it sounds fantastic
First got this bass a few months ago i play it a lot and it hasnt broken or done anything bad. It sounds great even through a crap amp, so for the price its unbeatable.
I bought this bass our of curiosity. i had been using ibanez and musicman basses for a while but i didn't have bass that i could just lug around without having to worry to much about taking too much care of it. so i bought this. i have to say it has impressed me so much that i have temporarily stopped playing my music man. this is just an awesome bass for both beginners and expert players. the simplicity of the one volume and one tone is great for running through effects or EQing on the amps. i run it through a GK half stack and i love the sound it gives me. i even stopped using my other basses at gigs and i carry this baby around. the only thing that i have to say was bad or maybe a bit neglected is that you have to check on your bridge constantly, especially when you change gauge of strings, because it seems to produce some buzzing. but other than that it's a great little bass.
