This is not a bad instrument. I have owned mine for over a year, and have not had any real issues with it. It does buzz a little bit when plugged in, but it's anything too bad. Great for a beginner, I would recommend this bass to anyone.
On the surface this looks like a good bass. I bought it today and found why it's sold at such a low price. The electronics are very noisy. When you turn up the volume on your mixer enough to hear the bass at the same level as the other instruments, there is a very loud "hisssss" that is constant. I put a new battery in but the hisssss was still there just as loud as before. I plugged a different bass into the same cable and the hisssing stopped. I intend to return the bass first thing in the morning.
