Designed with high-end features while maintaining affordability.

Part of the SR Premium line and manufactured in the Ibanez Premium factory, the SR Premium 1205E 5-string electric bass is designed with high-end features while maintaining affordability, making it the new standard for the serious, professional musician.

The SR Premium 1205E boasts a smoothly contoured ovangkol top on a large mahogany body for gorgeous looks and powerful, aggressive tone. Its five-piece SR5 wenge/bubinga neck is also bolstered with KTS™ titanium reinforcement rods inside, and finished with a rosewood fretboard. The Mono-Rail bridge is the ultimate in string isolation for bass. Each saddle is independently and securely locked down to the body for maximum vibration transfer and no interference. One screw controls the height of each saddle for easy adjustment.

Nordstrand® Big Single pickups provide the clear sound characteristic of single coil pickups with an aggressive edge. The EQB-IIISC 3-band EQ with mid-frequency and EQ-bypass switches gives you a world of tonal possibilities, making the SR Premium 1205E as versatile as it is good-looking.

Comments about Ibanez SR Premium 1205E 5-String Electric Bass Guitar:

I like the bass. It looks nice and plays well. The setup was spot on out of the box.The pick ups sound good. And the bass stays in tune very well. The bass does scratch pretty easy thou and the gig bag is not so good.I would buy the hard case for it.The strings are also alil tite on the spacing.

Comments about Ibanez SR Premium 1205E 5-String Electric Bass Guitar:

I purchased my first Ibanez bass quite a few years ago and that sealed the deal. I have owned nothing since. This is my second 5 string, my other being a
Prestige 1005(now the 4005). I wanted a second bass to use for practice and as a backup when I play out. It was a hard decision between the 4005 and the 1205. I truly love my 1005 but I decided to take a chance with the 1205. All I can say is it was the right choice. Set up was perfect right out of the box. It arrived at my house on Friday afternoon and I played it Friday night. All I did was tune it. I play in a modern country band so the low b is perfect to help fill the sound up. The on board eq is different than on the 1005, but gives me every tone I ask of it. I wasn't sure how the Nordstrom pickups would compare to the Bartaloni's but they are strong. Two things stand out the most. It is noticeably lighter than my other bass and I love the Elixer strings that come on it. I sat in with a group on New Years Eve and played a Sting Ray 4 string and while it does play well the neck is much thicker than any of my guitars. As for it becoming my backup, not now. I will be re-stringing the 1005 with Elixer strings and it will share the playing chores once again. If you are looking for a quality bass by all means look at this guitar. You can not go wrong. The only reason I didn't consider the 1405 was the different look of wood on the body. So the choice is yours. Ibanez makes great bass guitars that are easy to play not hard on the wallet. I know, I own 3.
