Celebrating a bass that has become a classic.
2007 marks a major milestone: the 20th Anniversary of the revolutionary Ibanez Soundgear bass. Premium woods, Prestige thru-necks, and Bartolini electronics provide the Japanese-made Ibanez Prestige Soundgear basses with even more sophistication and versatility than the famous originals. But the core Soundgear philosophy is exactly the same as two decades ago: a modern 5-string electric bass for players who want a thin, fast neck and the ability to dial in any tone for any genre from complex electric jazz to raging black metal.

Very nice, fast neck, nice construction, great sound (Bartolinies) Ibanez should have made every knob gold hardware. Looks great! Great woods, nice weight to it but not uncomfortable. I find there is buzz in the bridge when (takin it in today to get reset to see if that helps) slapping that sounds like a loose spring. I'm no expert but somthing of this price should have no flaws. The starp is way to long and even when adjusted to it's shortest setting it's still Mr. Metalhead long. Not important but it comes with the Bass, case is very nice. Overall, It's a great hight end beginner. If your getting into this range of basses, this is a good one to start with. I usually play Spector.
I bought my Ibanez SR1005EPM-Prestige 5-string bass back in Jan. 2007. Until now I still enjoy playing it everyday for 1-2 hrs.. It's one of the lightest bass around and very comfortable to play. This bass is totally EQUIVALENT to basses that cost around twice as much in my opinion. The case is also one of the best cases I ever owned. This is top-of-the-line quality Japanese bass w/ half cost.
An absolutely killer bass. The sound is amazinging. The playability even better. It's one of the few Japanese soundgears of today (there is one japan market only and the gary Willis signature)Absolutely the best Ibanez bass available fretted in america. The price is a bit much but it's well worth it if your looking for a high quality bass with excellent playability.
