I bought this bass as a backup when my main bass was down for repair reasons. My initial goal was to have a decent sounding bass that I could use during rehursals and keep my other bass as unblemished as possible for gigging and recording reasons. After playing every bass in the immediate price range for a few days I settled on this one, and I couldn't have made a better choice. The lightness of the body keeps it from being a hassle to play, the action is smooth and easy to move around quickly on, it is balanced beautifully (don't need to worry about it taking a nose dive if you let go of the neck) and the tone is incredibly versatile. If you want deep and boomy, you've got it; if you want light and punchy, you've got it as well. And virtually anything in between. I would reccomend this instrument to anyone, and would even use it in a live/recording situation.

This is a pretty good bass for a beginner. I have owned it for almost two years now. The active pickups are a pain to deal with. You can usually get a good low end out of them or a good high but its never consistent. And when the battery starts to die your volume significantly drops even though the battery still has enough power to work something like a distortion pedal for a few weeks of consistent use. The bass does play quite good however but is lacking in sound. Also my tone knob has come loose a couple of times, no matter how tight I put it back on. Overall i would reccomend this to a begginer or someone that doesn't plan on playing shows with it. Its not reliable enough.

i bought this bass used and I have been using it for 2 yrs. it is the best bass ive played since I started, its small body makes it easier to play and move around. its so good it made ibanez #1 in my book. I would suggest it to anyone wanting a great bass to play any type of music.
This bass rocks I play christian rock and blues its a good bass for beginers ive had this bass for bout 4 years I have a put a new set of strings nice the past three I Love this bass its great for rock......
This is a good buy. I learned everything I know on this axe and it never seems to dissapoint me. No matter how many guitars I own I will always continue to use this baby. You can pretty much get any sound out of it that you want(depending on the equipment you use.) The EQ is awesome, but the knobs seem to cause a small static sound when turned. I have one complaint however, the neck gets out of wack alot if you don't store or manage it properly. Be sure to buy a HARDSHELL case and not a softshell if you want the neck to stay put. However, other than that, I would reccomend it to anyone. It's a great bass for beginners and it gives alot for advanced players as well. It has EXCELLENT sound and tone for the extremely low price! Don't overlook this axe, it offers more than you'd think.
I picked this bass up from my local pawn shop, and I have to say I'm pretty pleased with how it plays. This bass is very light and so easy to play. My main bass is an Ibanez GSR200 and moving from that to this bass was a very nice surprise. The ONLY complaint I have with this guitar is the sound. Not that it's a bad sound, it's just very mid-rangy. You can shape the sound to some extent, however, the mid-range feel tends to remain constant, and for my personal preference, it's not exactly what I need for a metal band. Overall though, its a solid bass that I would recommend to anyone just starting out.
We bought this bass for my dad a few years back and it is what I learned to play on. I love it - it has great sound, especially for some jazz. I use it as my alternative metal bass. I tuned it to drop C; and even with that tuning and the sagging top string it still sounds great. It can pass for a 5-string any day. I play a lot of Breaking Benjamin and it sure sounds a lot like the bass Mark James plays!!
This is a fantastic bass. It plays great, it feels great, it's light weight, the tone is beautiful, and it's great to record with. I am thrilled with this bass. Not only does it play beautifully in sounds incredible and feels great. I have the blue jewel, and it rocks!
Yeah, this is a great bass for the price. It is active which I love, and it can be changed into almost any tone you like. The only two problems about it was that the knobs eventually get worn out and start shaking and making a static sound, and that the input jack has a dead spot if you move it sideways. Other than that it is a great bass.
I got this bass back about a year ago because my esp bass broke, so I was looking for something cheaper and this sexy axe delivered just what I needed and then some. I have used it on stage several times and it has yet to dissapoint me. The battery life is great though I recomend using duracell they seem to last longer in my bas vs. rayovac etc. The one thing that even begins to bother me is how high the strings are but should be able to lower it if I adjust the bridge. All and all if you are looking for an amazing bass but arent made of money this one is great!
I remember my first time playing this bass at the store. It was amazing! I had an Epiphone, and I hated it. The neck was too small and couldn't go anywhere. But this Ibanez has th 24 frets I needed! And the extra knob for bass/treble boost is quite the feature. I don't have to go over and mess with volumes on my amp. Just turn it down from the bass. Thanks Ibanez!
I love this Bass! I had A Dean that i used on stage before this one and I liked the action.I threw out the neck on the Dean so I was in search of an equivalent as far as the action goes and when I picked up this bass I fell in love, not only with the looks but the action and the sound.Ibanez did a great job with their attention to detail and quality on this bass.
