Comments about Ibanez SR300M Bass Guitar:

I'm a guitar player and needed a bass guitar to play with some bass tracks for some new recording I'm working on. It just wasn't worth it me to get a super fancy bass when I have multiple high-dollar guitars.

This bass is just awesome, particularly for the price. I got the maple fretboard and the red paint and haven gotten multiple compliments on the appearance of the guitar. Tone-wise, the guitar has a full EQ and active treble/bass boost (runs on a 9V battery). With the four-knob EQ, you can shape the tone a huge amount.

This may sound like heresy to real bass players, but I'm seriously thinking about using this bass to lay down bass tracks on my next recording.

            Amazing deal.

Out of box ready to play

Comments about Ibanez SR300M Bass Guitar:

Good sounding bass, nice control features (bass and treble controls/finger and slap controls plus two others) and overall solid build and look.
Sounds good out of the box other than needing to adjust pickups to for better and consistent string sound and raising the action a little. Bought a refurbished; looks just like new.
I've just starting learning on it but the value for the buck has been given the thumbs up by my instructor. He said the price is good for what the bass offers.

            Jaded Klark

            By Clark Markle

            from Florida

Comments about Ibanez SR300M Bass Guitar:

Out of the box it played good with standard tuning. My band plays some songs a half step down and other songs are played a whole step down. Tuned a half step down the strings had serious fret buzz, but with a truss rod adjustment according to the owners manual, the fret buzz was eliminated. I took the bass guitar to my local music store to get an expert opinion of it. He said the bass was good quality and didn't see any problems with it. His recommedation was to put better strings on it. I don't care for the cord plug in. It is difficult to get a hold of the cord to unplug it from the guitar.
I like the features of this bass. It is light weight and easy to play all night. Using a guitar strap it is well balanced. No neck dive with this bass. Control knobs are easy to adjust. I ordered the pearl white and it looks good with black pickups.
            Quality is very good
Good value for the price paid

Comments about Ibanez SR300M Bass Guitar:

Be careful. I Bought this as a new player's bass (I play guitar mainly) and I did not realize some of the problems until I took it home. The fret ends on mine were barely filed, i actually had small scratches on my hand. I don't know if it's my cord or amp, but when I tweak the EQ knobs, I get a nasty static sound. Though the frets have been since filed, I am still slightly disappointed.

            Maple woody goodness!

Comments about Ibanez SR300M Bass Guitar:

I find this bass to have a STELLAR warm woody character, with a range of tonal qualities very similar to a Fender Jazz and Precision bass. The active electronics are quiet and do a good job of recreating the sound without taking away from the lucious wood tone. The bass is ultra light, the neck is thin and plays very fast. Fretwork is good though not perfect but comparable to a Fender MIM. The 5 piece neck seems pretty sturdy for the price. If you want the Fender sound without the Fender price and lust after maple necks, this is your bass.
