A looker and a player.
The Ibanez SR305FM 5-String Electric Bass Guitar is versatile enough to take on every genre from funk to punk. When Ibanez introduced the Soundgear bass guitar nearly 20 years ago, it personified the Ibanez slogan, "Anything But Traditional." At the time, Soundgear was the stuff of bass wizardry: lightweight, curvaceous, thin-necked, and equipped with powerful and versatile active electronics. With easy-playing Prestige thru-necks, Bartolini electronics, and a host of other upgrades, the exquisite 2006 Prestige Soundgears will transport you to even more magical worlds of color and tone.

My name is Gregory Young, I just purchased this bass about 2 weeks ago. Best ax sense my Fender 5 string jazz. Its light, tone quality is great, very low bottom. You would have to have a nice rig to experience the sound quality.
My name is stephen powell.I bought this bass about 2 months ago. This bass has everything you need to play any type of music. The neck on the bass is perfect for any bassists who has small hands. The pickups has a nice tone to them. The sound of the bass can carry itself without any use of pedals or extra equipment. I recommend this bass for anybody who shops for good priceswith quality sound. I also have a GSR(200) which was my first bass I bought. I was not suprised about this bass. Ibanez basses always carry its name well.
I got this bass in late 2007. It is very smooth to play and has great feeling. However, the low B string buzzes very often and the control knobs come loose sometimes. Overall, it is a very good bass and I reccommend it to any bass player at an intermediate level.
This is my second 5 string and the best ever! have been playing bass for many years now and have learned a thing of two about quality gear.If you want a bass that has options this is it.I have been a Korn fan since 94 when and if you want Feildy's sound but cant shovel out the big bucks, Listen to Feildy he right BUY soundgears they rock!! Ibanez are one of the best!!
This bass feels perfect to me. If you don't care for wide necks but want an exstended range down, here's your bass. The tone is very nice, I dialed in some warmth and then some growl with only touching the eg and pick selecter on the bass.
I got this for christmas of 2006, and I thought it was going to sound just like my GSR200(also by Ibanez) except for the fifth string. It had bad fret buzz, it can't stay tuned in a controlled environment, the sound and EQ is hard to work with for me, and the knobs(even the rods that go down into the electronics) fall out. I wouldn't recommend this bass to anyone who didn't have a workshop to help right all of these wrongs. I was disappointed, go for a different model instead.
