OVERVIEW

The SR800 delivers smooth playability, lightweight body and perfectly matched electronics at a working bassist's price point.

For 25 years the SR800 has given bass players a modern alternative. With its continued popularity, Ibanez is constantly endeavoring to answer the wider needs of a variety of players, at a variety of budgets. But no matter what the specs, the heart is the same-SR continues to excite with its smooth, fast neck, lightweight body, and perfectly matched electronics.

The neck tongue not only creates a unique look, it also makes utilizing the higher frets easier and coupling Jatoba with Bubinga has made it strong and stable despite its thinness.

The MK1 pickups are split coil designs that provides a very wide frequency range and enhanced definition for maximum accuracy. The Neck and Bridge pickups have equal response, like traditional single coils, but without the hum and noise.

Comments about Ibanez SR800 4-String Electric Bass:

This is an amazing 4 string bass. It is so smooth that is almost plays by itself. The neck is incredibly thin, but has a standard string spacing, best of both worlds. You barley have to touch the strings against the neck to fret them. So easy. It is a light as a feather, but has the tone and sustain of a heavy bass. The tone is buttery smooth. You don't need to run it through an EQ to get optimal sound. It is so comfortable in any playing position, too. I've played many basses over the past 25+ years and this one is my favorite 4 string under $2000.

Comments about Ibanez SR800 4-String Electric Bass:

No dead spots, sleek easy neck, great solid sound. These slim necks aren't for everyone, but for me, great. I'm a guitarist who doubles on bass, and this is a comfortable width. Many full time bassists will find the neck too slim. Not me.

Comments about Ibanez SR800 4-String Electric Bass:

If you're purchasing what you see on the website, be very careful. You will not get the same. True, there's a degree of variation in finishes but neither of the guitars I received looked anything like the photo. So I returned them both for my second choice, a Fender bass

Ibanez has a great line of well made bass guitars with unique looks. I own 3 of them. But this was a disappointment. For this price point, I was not willing to settle.
