OVERVIEW

Take the music with you with this travel sized acoustic-electric.

The Sojourn 4 Acoustic Travel Bass has a remarkably big sound for such a small instrument. The secret to its great acoustic tone is the solid Engelmann Spruce top and the facts that with its 24.5" scale it performs very well in standard tuning. With the Sojourn there is no need to transpose your music to a higher key. This bass delivers right out of the gig bag (which is included with purchase). But it doesn't stop there. Hidden inside the sound hole is the B-Band A1.2 Preamp. The A1.2 has superior frequency response with 24 dB of gain, making a perfect fit with the included B-Band 22R UST (under saddle transducer). The sound reproduction is amazingly pure and clear. You will not believe how big this little bass sounds when plugged into a bass amp or direct to recording console or PA.

Gig bag included.

Comments about Michael Kelly Sojourn 4 Travel Acoustic Bass:

I had forgotten to mention the electronics in my last review. This bass has an electret undersaddle pickup. (as opposed to piezo) Which gives it a rich, loud sound through whatever you decide to plug it into. I had a Fender acoustic with a Fishman piezo previously, and this one sounds substantially louder and better. Just thought I'd add that.

Comments about Michael Kelly Sojourn 4 Travel Acoustic Bass:

Having played mostly short scale electrics, I was looking for a small acoustic bass, that I could easily reach around. Not one of the uke type with the rubber strings, but something more conventional. This bass was everything I was looking for. It has good tone, the intonation it spot on, and it's a blast to play. It's a good instrument for a good value.

Comments about Michael Kelly Sojourn 4 Travel Acoustic Bass:

Before we got married this past June, my wife and I traveled by air at least three or four times... the look she would give me, whenever I reached for my full-sized acoustic bass-guitar as we departed for the airport, finally prompted me to leave it behind and do without it over one very long Christmas. I had played one of these, that previous September, at a shop in Seattle and had been pretty impressed; more impressed than I'd ever been with those Uke basses with their strange squishy strings! I picked one up as soon as I was able and now I grab my li'l buddy whenever we're traveling and never have to jones for my axe... it sounds so awesome 'plugged-in,' I don't feel inadequate sitting in and playing thru the PA (I have a Mark-Bass D.I. box which I also highly recommend.)
