Comments about Modulus Guitars Quantum 5 Quilt 5-String Bass:
This bass has really changed how I play. I was always looking for that clear punchy tone with growling lows, since I play anything from Metal to Jazz that was huge. I have owned a warwick and a musicman, both 5 strings. This is the easiest to play out of all of them! I am very pleased with the quality and workmanship behind these guitars. Every gig i have played in and every class I have gone to with it, the compliments have been endless. If you can pull the money together, I highly recommend this instrument to all bassists looking for the next level above the iconic musicman.
Comments about Modulus Guitars Quantum 5 Quilt 5-String Bass:
I ordered this bass in blind faith without ever having had one in my hands. I had to wait for 10 months after ordering it, but nevertheless this is the best purchase I ever made. This simply is the best Bass I have ever held in my hands. When I first opened the case I was stunned by it's beauty. Every detail is engineered and produced to perfection. Sound is simply perfect and playability is insane. Extremely sleek neck, combined with the lowest action ever. The only way this bass could be made better is if it could play by itself. After playing it for several hours during rehearsal I concluded I could just as well sell all the other basses I own since I probably wont ever use them again. This bass simply outclasses them all. (Musicman Stingray, Spector Euro LX, Warwick Corvette $$, etc)The only problem with these basses is the price and the delivery time (although once you have it, you quickly forget about that)

Only a Q6 is cooler! This baby is better than Pedulla, Fender, Warwick, Peavey, Conklin, Carvin, etc...
Comments about Modulus Guitars Quantum 5 Quilt 5-String Bass:
I've played every bass that I could get my hands on and I am finally satisfied that I have the perfect bass. I've played Fender Jazz (USA), Carvin, Peavey Cirrus, Musicman Stingray, Lakland, and many more. I live in a very hot and humid area of the US and I was tired of making a neck adjustment every month because of the change in weather. I finally brokedown and decided to give Modulus a try after doing alot of research on these basses. The sustain is the best I've ever seen and I've tried alot of different basses. The tone is very warm. I love it. I highly recommend the Bartolini Pickups. So many different sounds. I am as hard to please as anyone. I am selling 2 Fender American Jazz basses and 1 Carvin fretless bass to pay for this one, but it is worth it by far. It's the best B-string I've ever played. And just as you always hear about this bass, it really is like one big string. It's the most well balanced bass ever. You don't get any noticable volume changes going from one string to the next. This is the only bass I've every owned that I could really use the G-string without being afraid of dead notes. Buy this bass. You won't be sorry!
Comments about Modulus Guitars Quantum 5 Quilt 5-String Bass:
Tone was a bit harsh through Trace Elliot, but was excellent through Eden. Workmanship not as good as Alembic.
Comments about Modulus Guitars Quantum 5 Quilt 5-String Bass:
Make no mistake, I've loved Modulus basses in the past (I've got three) but I have to say that I won't buy another. The neck never seems to go out of tune but one of my Modulus' developed a neck bow that was hideous and Modulus headquarters just shrugged it off. Their customer service department won't return phone calls either. I had to go to Manny's Music (in NYC) and get them call them and Modulus "graciously" offered to replace the neck FOR half the cost of the instrument!!! No thanks Modulus. When you get your act together, I'll think about coming back... Too bad that their terrible customer service casts a shadow over what otherwise might be a great product. But hey gang... If you're thinking about dropping 3Gs on a Modulus I'd think again.
Comments about Modulus Guitars Quantum 5 Quilt 5-String Bass:
yes, moduluses are expensive, but i bought mine about three years ago and it was the best investment i've ever made. the quantum 5 is so smooth and yet so powerful it is unreal. save up, and do your playing justice with this axe.
Comments about Modulus Guitars Quantum 5 Quilt 5-String Bass:
These basses are simply amazing. The B string has never sounded so full as on a Modulus. I have fallen into an amp, which then crashed to the floor, all while wedging the neck of the bass in a spot that would snap any lesser bass. This thing is STRONG, and it has tone that can ruin 99% of the competition.
Comments about Modulus Guitars Quantum 5 Quilt 5-String Bass:
Over my 30 years of playing, I have owned and current own several basses to include Warrick, Fender, Ken Smith, Music Man, Yamaha, and Ibanez. The reason for owning so many instruments is because I was searching for the perfect bass. One bass would sound great but play like crap and another bass would play great but sound like crap. After purchasing a Modulus Quantum 5, I must say that my bass plays great and sound great. Additionally, there are no dead spots or loose B strings. I could shoot myself for spending all that money on those other basses. If you haven?t experienced playing a bass with no dead spots and a great tone, you owe it to yourself to experience the Modulus bass the perfect bass.
Comments about Modulus Guitars Quantum 5 Quilt 5-String Bass:
This thing is probably the most gorgeous bass I've ever seen or played, and it plays as well as it looks[probably better]. Some of the smoothest tone I've ever heard, especially on the low B. I could never afford one though, which is why I still gotta stick with the Ibanez...
