A quantum leap beyond conventional high-end basses.

An exquisite bass that combines advanced technology with the finest craftsmanship. A first-quality lacewood top is matched to a premium alder body. It comes packed with the power of dual EMG-DC pickups and active bass and treble controls.

Crafted for structural superiority, the Quantum neck laughs off incidents that end or shorten the lifespan of conventional wood necks. It is a hi-tech marvel, an ultra-rigid D-shaped shell made from dozens of hand-formed layers of aerospace-grade, epoxy-impregnated carbon fibers and fitted with a fast, ultra-smooth phenolic fretboard. Humidity, falls, dings, sweat, blood, and beers have all met their match.

Tonally you get Earth-shaking low end, expressive mids, and sweet highs, all with massive sustain that's completely controllable. The neck's miraculous strength-to-weight ratio and extreme resonant peak produce a remarkably unclouded, even tone. It also transmits sound faster than wood, so articulation and attack dynamics are dramatically enhanced.

This original design has become the first choice for many of today's top touring professionals.

Comments about Modulus Guitars Quantum 5-String Bass:

If you are thinking about buying one of these basses, frickin buy it now. You wont be dissapointed. I cant seem to put this thing down. I've played Music Man, Tobias, Fender Jazz, Peavey cirrus, Ibanez, Traben and many others and this just doesnt even compare. They are in there own league. I will never sell this thing, ever.

    Amazing Bass

Comments about Modulus Guitars Quantum 5-String Bass:

I managed to pick up a used model (made in 1996) at an insanely low price. After playing with it for about a week, I can say that this is probably the best bass I've ever played. The neck profile is very comfortable, not too wide or too thick, and It's nice not having to worry about warping or dead spots. Since mine's old, it came with EMGs and a 2 band EQ. I plan to swap them out and throw in Bartolinis and an Aquilar 3 band pre amp and it will be perfect. The EQ is very versitile already, but I just like having a mid knob on the bass. If you have the means, I highly recommend this bass.

    Awesome

Comments about Modulus Guitars Quantum 5-String Bass:

I could go on for a while about how great the Mod is, but I'll leave it to the other reviewers. Heck, Phil Lesh used one with the Grateful Dead, need any more endorsements? I own this bass, yes, the one in the picture is in my house. The lacewood is beautiful and shows depth. However, the company's website doesn't list lacewood as an option, and I haven't seen it here since I got mine a few years ago, so I think lacewood is discontinued. If you try to get it, you may wait in vain. If I'm wrong, you will be pleased with it. That said, the bubinga one is gorgeous, I would go with that one.

    Uber Bass!

Comments about Modulus Guitars Quantum 5-String Bass:

the thing you have to realize about Modulus basses is that they are not made for comfort, they look good but they are not made for looks. They are made to sound freakin' awesome In the studio or on stage or wherever you want to play the thing. If you have sloppy technique it will tell on you, so it actually makes you a better player. that 35'' graphite neck gives it unmatched sustain and clarity across all strings, and the electronics....WOW! I played one of these professional for just over three years and have learned one thing, their tone can't be beat.
