The MTD Kingston Artist bass guitar features an ergonomically carved basswood body and a bolt-on Eastern hard rock maple neck. The Artist comes with an exposed-pole MTD MM-style alnico humbucking pickups and includes active electronics. Custom made MTD bridge and tuners in black. Like all fretted Kingston basses, the Artist utilizes the Buzz Feiten Tuning System.

I work at the local guitar center, and so have lots of time to play with all kinds of things that I want and cannot afford. I've been an ernie ball enthusiast for a long time, but I might have found a new favorite brand today. This bass compares to basses four to five hundred dollars more. It sounds very full and amazing, the active electronics on this bass I find shapes the sound better than the actives on my ibanez. Overall, I'm extremely impressed. Not the best bass for the money, this bass is a steal. Worth every penny and then some.
