Comments about Music Man Classic Stingray 5 Electric Bass Guitar:
If you can afford it- get it! if you can get it used- get it! Save if you have to- you won't second guess this investment.
this bass is amazing! I tested one out at guitar center and I fell in love with the neck and tone. The classic stingray tone is in here and more- serious pressence! A little heavey but the tone and feel are the rewards. Of course this instrument is visually stunning- I have the powder blue with rosewood/birdseye maple neck- luxurious! This is a great complimnet/contrast to my roadworn jazz bass.
Oozes quality- like butter! Serious attention to detail and playability- perfect setup out of the box.
You get what you pay for- this is an investment that will keep rewarding you and will retain most of its value if not exceed it once its no longer in production. This bass will last a lifetime!
Comments about Music Man Classic Stingray 5 Electric Bass Guitar:
As a pro I count on a bass to sound great in a mix and track well. This bass delivers in style and grace. Apart from being very beautiful and comfortable, these instruments excel at sitting in with a kick drums and having an even balance between strings. The foam mutes, while hard to adjust, are a wonderful feature that really bring old school life to your sound, and as someone who prefers roundwounds for pick and slap work, allow me to get flatwound tone without changing basses. Construction is like a tank and it truly is beautiful. The necks on these things are literally stunning.I play solo bass pieces on the side from the meat and potatoes of pro life, and this bass is honestly best suited for ensemble playing, and not solo work. But to be honest, stingrays have always truly been ensemble instruments. For a 2 band eq it does have a lot of presence and tone shaping. My favorite is when the treble is all the way down and you hear what in my opinion could be the warmest, fullest and punchiest bass tone around.

I just bought this bass and i was suprised how well it sounded in a band setting. it cut through sooo well it made my low wattage amp sound so much louder!the tone on this bass is incredible! save and buy one if you can.
Comments about Music Man Classic Stingray 5 Electric Bass Guitar:
I recently purchased the Mint Green/Maple fretboard version of this bass. I was blown away when I played this in the store. The first thing I noticed was the big but tight low-end and razor-edge high-end. This bass has a two band EQ which is more than enough to dial in a variety of tones. However, this bass really feels/sounds like it's been made to rock. The quality of the build is outstanding. This bass is also fairly heavy but all that weight, along with the string through bridge really contribute to the huge, in your face tone of this instrument. The set-up/sting choice that comes with this bass is average but did need some adjusting to feel just right (but what instrument doesn't?). If you can afford this instrument, or even if you can't (it is rather expensive) do yourself a favor and at least play one ASAP. You won't regret it.
