Very good value; neck-thru construction of light mahogany makes for comfortable weight. Two passive humbuckers with V/T V/T controls allow for good variety of sounds. Quiet pickups, no hum even when played thru older tube amps. Mine came out of the box ready to play, great low action and excellent factory setup. The 35" scale makes playing the upper registers easier and keeps the bass notes crisp, even if you drop tune. All the hardware is securely mounted and is industry standard stuff. Lightweight tuners and a string thru body bridge. You will want to consider buying the Peavey case as it does not fit in a Fender-style case very well due to the LONG upper horn. Great Bass and I plan on getting the 5 string model soon.

I had problems right out of the box, chips around the string eyelets, no cut out on the lower horn as pictured and the neck seamed twisted close to the nut, even after adjusting action and truss rod E string buzz at first four frets, Great customer support though and I should be receiving my replacement soon, this bass has potential it has a very fast neck and is very playable.

Comments about Peavey Grind Bass 4 BXP NTB Electric Bass Guitar:

I bought this bass 10 years ago and it has served me well in all that time.

When I first bought it the wood was so rough as to actually give me splinters when I played it.

I finally removed the hardware, sanded it down, and finished it with tung oil. A fw coats of that made it look great and no more splinters!

It's been great ever since.

Comments about Peavey Grind Bass 4 BXP NTB Electric Bass Guitar:

I was lead to believe Leo Fender designed and made the best bass'.
    Man is that stupid.
All of Fender's bass' are clunky lumber monstrosities, compared to the Peavey Grind.

    this is a beast

Comments about Peavey Grind Bass 4 BXP NTB Electric Bass Guitar:

Amazing bass, wood very durable, neck thru has a warm feel to it. The neck feels really nice on your hand
The onboard volume and pickup control is a great add on.
Played over 400 shows with this bass, its been to 10 states. It has been in -10 degree weather, and 105 degree weather. Never warped, and the wood is still in great shape.
It is a little pricey, but worth every penny if want something different than everyone else.

I have owned this bass for about three years now. I have the lighter color version. This bass stays in tune all of the time. I can take it out of the case even after a week and it will still be in tune. The action is perfect! The finish is perfect!

NOT Just Great For The Price!

    By -Maij-

Comments about Peavey Grind Bass 4 BXP NTB Electric Bass Guitar:

I bought this bass three years ago when my much more expensive bass fell over at a practice session, instantly snapping it's neck at the nut. With gigs coming up and limited funds due to having to have my original bass repaired, I set out to look for something that would at least get me through the next couple of months. I thought that this bass might at least be decent. Boy was I wrong! It wasn't decent at all, it was incredible! I have small hands even for a guitar player, and this guitar is so easy to play. The pickups are quiet, with very good response. Plenty of lows, and all the highs you'll need. I thought it was a good looking bass in the photos, but when I took delivery, it was even better looking than the photos! I've bought from Peavey when I need something that is at least passable when I didn't have the funds to buy what I would normally buy, knowing that they do a good job at a certain price range. But this is a superior product, worth much more that the MRSP, let alone what you get it for here. I haven't had to mess with the action, no buzzes, great action, and for three years of heavy use, it plays as well as it did initially. Seriously, this is a fine bass instrument. I not only recommend this bass, but would buy it again, and will if I ever have to! Great job Peavey!

    Best bass for professional gigs

    By bassdude

Comments about Peavey Grind Bass 4 BXP NTB Electric Bass Guitar:

This bass is a great deal for the serious musician. It's thin smooth neck makes for easy, smooth sliding, while its natural wood tones makes for the best looking bass out there. It has a great treble quality. The bass range on it is still clear, not too mushy. It stays in tune relatively well as well. All this combined with its great natural finish solid neck-through body makes it the only bass I use at gigs.

Comments about Peavey Grind Bass 4 BXP NTB Electric Bass Guitar:

I got this bass 3 years ago hoping to get a bass I wouldn't need to replace. This is exactly what I wanted. fantastic feel, the fretboard easy to play on. It can get a great low end for jazz, plenty of treble, or a great mid for slap. Though slap is not my main, this is the best slap sound I've heard. I'm not sure if its from tons of use or if the pictures deceiving but mine is much lighter than the picture. fantastic bass.

Comments about Peavey Grind Bass 4 BXP NTB Electric Bass Guitar:

This bass is Very nice. I bought it without really playing it, but I do not regret it. this bass has an insane amount of bottom end. But at the same time it can also be very trebly. which is good for slap. I play with several bands and this bass can play funk, rock, country, or anything else that you want it to. It is also very light yet durable.
