Comments about Peavey Max Electric Bass Value Pack:
It's a really good package
the bass has JBass kind of PUs, 2 vol & 1 tone knob
(the neck one obviously gets more bassy sounds while the bridge one sounds brighter)
it gats a bit of noise, which get cut out when both PU are active at full- vol 10
besides its large weird upper horn, its weight is really balanced
+you get the JBass kinda electronics (in a different design)
+Its really well done (specially the wood work)
mine is made of 3 pieces of wood, good looking wood, the paint work is translucent, so you can see the wood behind, doesnt feel chep at all, and after a year doesnt seem to have big scratches, or anything
+ the 12 radius feels nice, makes it easy to play
+it's full scale
+ that little amp is great, has a "vintage" mode which does change your tone (i admit i used more for guitar playing now, gets you a nice SRV sound)
i got it after being a guitar player for 8 years, so i wasnt so much into the accesories, but note:
-i got it without the extra pair of strings (idk why it wasnt there)
-the cable included sounds really cheap (noisy), get a better one
-the strap wont get the work done (its the kind of strap that only handles acoustic guitars)
-the tuner never worked out (i have other but this is really slim, and wanted it to work, nfortunately gurantee doesnt seem to cover it)
- i got in a physical store, so when the bass DIDNT SEND ANY SOUND after 3 weeks, i went to the store and they REPAIRED it(the cables went loose) for free =) i even think it sound better
after all, yesi would reccomend it if you already play other instrument and have cables, and all your stuff and want to get a well made bass
