Main complaint is the low B string really doesn't sound as good when compared to a more expensive 5 string bass. Also, the three tone eq's aren't that great either. Having said the bad things first, you also have to keep in mind this is quite inexpensive for a decent 5 string bass, and like most Peavey equipment I've owned in the past, they last forever and are very dependable. After the warranty is over, I will probably change out the tone pots and put a better pot than what they have. I do like the pick-ups and it does play very smooth and easy one the fingers. The bottom line is: you can't expect an expensive sound from a bass at this price, so again for the money it's hard to beat.

Comments about Peavey Millennium 5 AC BXP 5-String Bass Quilt Top:

This is definitely a great bass, but not just for the price; not only because it's a cheaper five string, but it matches higher end five strings. The action on it is absolutely wonderful, and this makes it easy to play. The strings give off really good tone whether playing electrically or unplugged. Overall, it is just a really great bass and anyone would enjoy playing it.

Comments about Peavey Millennium 5 AC BXP 5-String Bass Quilt Top:

The reason I rated this bass a 9 was due to the set up. It cost me $75.00 to get it professionally set up. Now it is a 10. I am very pleased with the features.
      Features were as advertised.
I bought it used, condition 1. I can't say anything negative about it except I feel like it should have been set up better at the factory. The action was real high and the neck had a bow in it. The finish is absolutely beautiful with no flaws,
I feel like it was well priced.

      Awesome Bass!

      By Kanchana Srinivasaraghavan

      from W. Lafayette, IN

Comments about Peavey Millennium 5 AC BXP 5-String Bass Quilt Top:

Has great control. The fact that it actually has a 3 band equalizer helps to really find the sound you want. Plus the pickups are great. You can also string this bass two different ways.

The bass is pretty solid with good build quality. I've only had a problem with the part that holds the string near the bridge coming lose. So if you do any adjusting in this area be sure you're careful.

The bass is a bit pricey, but I think it is well worth the cost. It has the features and quality to back it up.

Overall, this is an excellent bass and definitely recommend getting one. I have had this bass for about 3.5 years. I have made many recordings with this bass. The pickups make this bass sound crystal clear when I record using Ableton. I play a variety of music ranging from metal to bluegrass, to folk. The fact that I have active pickups on the bass allow me to change the tone to suit any of these genres. I would definitely buy this bass again.

One note: I bought the Black Violet color. The bass is not actually as dark purple as the color suggests. It still is purple but just a bit lighter.

      Great bass for the money

Comments about Peavey Millennium 5 AC BXP 5-String Bass Quilt Top:

I am very pleased with this bass. Right out of the box, it was set-up very nicely. I have been unable to find anything that needs to be adjusted. The neck is right, the action is good, the intonation is good. The finish seems to be flawless. It stays in tune. I got the Black Violet finish, which is more red than I was thinking it would be, but I still like it. The color is the same all around the instrument, very handsome. Of course the headstock is black, and it has a nice satin finish maple neck. Very adjustable preamp, the treble control is very hissy when turned full up, but I don't play the styles that warrant a bright sound, so it doesn't bother me a bit.I ordered the Musicians Gear black molded economy case, and it fits perfectly in that case. I'm very happy with this purchase, and with Peavey for such a great bass at a reasonable price.

Comments about Peavey Millennium 5 AC BXP 5-String Bass Quilt Top:

Sounds absolutely amazing, mine however did come with a bad B string. That's only a 10$ fix though so it was no hassle, but nevertheless it's a great bass for the price. I highly recommend this bass to anyone who is already playing a 5 string or looking to upgrade to a 5 string.

      I Like It!

      By BluesBass-e8bT7

      from Missoula, MT

Comments about Peavey Millennium 5 AC BXP 5-String Bass Quilt Top:

I have owned and played this bass nearly every day for about three years. I love the close string spacing. I have small hands and it helps. The tone is great and everyone comments on how good the Tigers Eye finish looks. The only negative point would be the tuners. I have had to replace three of the tuners so far. For just a couple of bucks more they could have used a better quality tuner.

      This bass is amazing!!!

      By Alex-0ULiu

      from Arkansas

Comments about Peavey Millennium 5 AC BXP 5-String Bass Quilt Top:

I'm mainly a rock/metal guitarist and I wanted to buy a bass that would last because I wanted to expand my possibilities. I highly recommend this bass to anyone, except a professional or someone who mainly plays bass might want something more expensive. The only negative thing I have to say about it is that with the quilt-top finish (I have the transparent black), it's hard to even tell if it is a quilt-top if you aren't very close to it and you aren't looking in the light. But overall, amazing instrument.

Comments about Peavey Millennium 5 AC BXP 5-String Bass Quilt Top:

This bass is very good for any type of playing. I myself use it for metal and the neck is very easy to move across making my style of playing heaven. This bass is very good for what its worth, if you are new to bass and think that it won't be AMAZING since peavey is moslty amp work you will be blown away. The tone is amazing, the neck is sold and thin, all in all an amzing bass.
