Bought mine new in early 2007, so mine is most likely a 2006 model, but the features are the same regardless. I have the tiger eye finish, and it is absolutely gorgeous! The pictures do NOT do it justice.Ok, so here's what I love about this bass. First and foremost, is the weight! This thing is so light, it's sickening. It's also very comfortable, whether standing, or sitting. You can play this for hours if you have to, and not be sore afterwards-big plus for us older guys! The neck is an absolute joy to play, very comfortable, and it has a nice satin type finish. The truss rod adjustment at the neck is nice, no sprecial tools needed. How does this bass sound? Like a good stock Fender type bass should sound in my humble opinoin. Really good output, with good clarity at the same time. Being single coils, they are prone to buzzing, but when you turn both to equal volume, it does go away! Actually, the control cavity is shielded, so you really won't have an issue with it-I use the neck only 95% of the time. You won't need to change them. Two things to consider; the ability to string thru the body or bridge is really nice. If you string thru the body though, be careful when changing strings, the string ferrules with come right out with it. Not a big deal if you string thru like I do, but if you go thru the bridge, keep those ferrules in a safe place. The tuners are a cheap copy of a Gotoh GB7. They do work, and the bass will stay in tune, but I found the nuts that hold them in liked to come loose sometimes. I don't consider it a problem though, because real Gotoh's, or Hipshot ultralites drop right in. I put on ultralites, everything is great now. This bass is a good buy, no matter what your skill level is. I've had two pro players wonder if it was a custom built bass, thats how good it sounds. Enough said?

This bass is an OK bass. It actually appears to change colors BUT its sound is horribe. It sounds nice for a rock band but for just playing it it vibrates way to much. The appearence is great especially the fret board. I used this with many amps and many picks and it all makes ir sound like it rattles. Playing quiet however reduces some of this rattling sound. Great first time bass if you have never touched any type of guitar but your best Bet is to spend the extra money and get a Fender

Comments about Peavey Millennium BXP 4-String Bass Guitar Quilt Top:

Great looking bass, and with proper setup it is great for the price. I love the narrow neck which makes it a joy to play. The electronics seem decent, and sound good with new quality strings. Simple jazz bass electronics makes it easy to service if needed, and the solid simplicity makes it a reliable backup bass. Except for the nut, it seems like good craftmanship.

The nut seemed to be done by hand, and all slots were too narrow, not allowing the strings to move freely, which in turn made it difficult to tune.
Also needed to file fret ends, as they were sticking out slightly, but this is known to happen even with expensive instruments.

I played this bass right out of the box! i bought the blue one its gorgeous! this bass has a good feel..the fingerboard is good nice and thin.the jazz neck is good. it's light weight and is very balanced not top heavy or anything. the bass needs a little adjustment because its a little fret buzz. but i played a few songs on it right out the box and im very impressed. i have a diamond series shecter which is a very good bass but this peavey will be my new number one! don't let people steer you a way from buying the peavey bass because of the price it's a awesome bass with excellent tone and it's lound! the pickups are fine even the strings that came with my peavey are good. again im very happy and excited because i always wanted a jazz style bass because of the thin neck and pick-up configuration. buy this bass and again i don't care if a bass is super super expensive it still needs to be adjusted. I also would like to just make a comment on some things i read in reviews. one i feel that if you can really play it don't matter what kind of bass it is. pedals and certain types of amps don't make you a good player.the bass strings don't make you a good player, slapping and popping don't make you a good bass player. in my opinion constant practice will make you a good player. learn to read bass music and learn the notes on your bass, learn chord progressions and your scales. take your time and be you on the bass. I hope this helps some of the bass players out there. I love the bass and i have been playing over ten years or so and im still fascinated by the instrument and im constantly growing and learning new things about the bass! my fellow bass players never get satisfied and stop trying to grow in bass playing! don't miss out get the peavey millenium BX4 BUY IT!!!

Comments about Peavey Millennium BXP 4-String Bass Guitar Quilt Top:

When I received the bass the strings were loose. As I attempted to tune, there was so much buzz that I could not make a note. The tuner on the A string seemed to be stripped and then the E string separated. My first thought was that I was going to have a problem returning this instrument.

On closer examination I realized the neck was back bowed. After adjusting the truss rod, tightening the screw on the A string tuner and replacing the E string, things started looking up.

I have about 10 hours of playing time on the bass now and it is a keeper. Love the light weight, smooth neck, and great sound. I got the Tiger eye version and it is beautiful. It is much more orange than the picture but very good looking. For the price I don't think there is a better deal out there. Just be prepared to do a setup to get it ready to play.

I bought 2 of these about a year ago to keep my better basses out of bars full of stumbling drunks, who kept knocking them over. one of them I pawned and never went back for it, the pickups were installed crooked and the bridge was also crooked. The other one was excellent, I have had nothing but good luck with it, it sounds like a jazz bass and it's tough, I gig with it exclusively, but still need a backup, I'm thinking Yamaha.

This bass is a good novice bass for any beginner. It gives you exactly what a novice player will need, but nothing more. The neck has a very nice feel to it and it is easy to move your fingers around on the fretboard. It is a lightweight yet durable instrument as well. This bass has a special bass in my heart since it was my first bass, and I would recommend it as a first or second bass, or just one to add to your arsenal. But it isn't anything special and won't be a primary bass.

      Cool blues

      By Lawrence Thomas

Comments about Peavey Millennium BXP 4-String Bass Guitar Quilt Top:

I was very suprised with this bass It has a great mellow tone and the neck is incredibly fast. I bought this because my Squier P Bass is really heavy after a while. This Peavey is so light yet still has a deep sound. I bought the blue which is very pretty up close but at a distance simply looks blue. I think I should have bought the sunburst. But I strongly recommend this bass.

Comments about Peavey Millennium BXP 4-String Bass Guitar Quilt Top:

Great look, and after a little 'playing around' with the bridge, I think we have a winner. It's my son's first bass, and we're both pretty happy with it. I'm an Ibanez fan through-and-through, and I was shocked at how much I liked the tone. Lot of buzz on the first few frets but got it worked out.

Comments about Peavey Millennium BXP 4-String Bass Guitar Quilt Top:

Overall i could not recomend this bass
has nice features like the pickups and tuning pegs other than that it is you get what you pay for
The quility is horrible on this bass when i recieved it you could not even play it the neck was soo warped it bowed up about a half an inch it was sent back and exchanged for a different brand of bass
The value is good but beware of what you are getting would be a good first bass for a student

      My Main Bass

      By Big Al-ZONxW

      from Houston, PA

Comments about Peavey Millennium BXP 4-String Bass Guitar Quilt Top:

I have been playing bass for 4+ years. This bass was a christmas present about three years ago and I am very happy with it. I only rated the features at a 3.5 because it is bassically a jazz-style bass. Generic but tried and true. The neck on the bass is very thin and comfortable, probably thinner than a fender neck! The heel is very well sculpted and not obtrusivie like most bolt-ons. The tone of this bass is what you would expect from a j-style bass. It is very versatile. I've used it playing both metal and indie-rock and it fits in very well. It works well in various tunings as well. I've tuned it down to C and it cuts through. The only negative things I have to say about this bass are that (1.) The factory strings are not great at all and (2.) It was not set up well when I opened the box. The neck was almost flat and buzzed like crazy. After adjusting the bridge (height adjustment screws became stripped, but still work)and the trusrod, and pickup height, I was able to get it to my liking. Despite the small amount of maintenance when you first get it. It is a great buy. The quilt top on the blue finnish is fantastic! It is my main bass because of its playability, aggressive tone, and sheer beauty. Excellent choice if you are on a budget and looking for an out of the ordinary J-style bass.

      Pretty Damn nice

      By BrayneNinja

Comments about Peavey Millennium BXP 4-String Bass Guitar Quilt Top:

I love this bass, and use it every day. I got mine at a local music store for $220. The pictures don't do it justice, it's a bloody piece of art. I bought the sunburst one, and its a lot more orange then the picture shows. I don't know if it was just a little defect in mine, but one of the knobs didn't find tight, so I had to slide it off to turn it, not a big deal. It's an amazing bass for the price and I recommend it to everybody.
