This is a nice bass guitar for the money. Don't expect an american made Fender Jazz bass for this price, but this bass sounds good and plays well with some minor tweaking.( setting intonation, Neck adjustment and string height adjustment). Bass was pretty well set up from the factory and was very playable just the way it was. I really like the maple neck on this bass. Have been playing since 1965 so I think I know a decent bass when I play one but of course all opinions are just that. Opininions. I would purchase this again if lost or stolen. I don't see how you can possibly go wrong with this Peavy Zodiac Bass.
the splt p in the neck is great, thin 1 1/2" jazz width nut, shiny gloss finish on board & neck, but feels good.the one pbass pu is worth the price alone, but the j is useable, really. the fretwork is way better than the DE scorpion, which costs a lot more. not a thing i would complain about, and my other bass is a new Roscoe LG3000, I know decent gear, playing since 1978.and I've had them all. This is a cheapo but a real surprise. I got her expecting little and wound up with a respectable P bass with a J neck, hard maple board and nothing seems cheap, the pickguard is a wierd flat, matte black, looks cheap, but i think they were thinking,"vintage"..like a 50's bass. and the rear neck plate is blank,no 'made in china" stamped anywhere, a classy bass,i suggest this over the scorpio SE signature zodiac.it's better, period.WAY more for my $ than I expected,it sounds like an actual P bass, warm, full and pretty..or punky and aggressive. think P bass, narrow neck, for almost no money..seems more solid than cheaper Fenders.
