Comments about Rickenbacker 4004L Laredo Electric Bass:

This thing is a beast! Was able to quickly dial in a tone I liked. Some complain of a lack of tonal control, if you are playing lots of covers I could see that but for an originals band it is great. I play with two guitarists using lots of reverb, delay, and overdrive but this thing just cuts right through the mix. A lot cleaner tone than the 4003. Weighs around 8 lbs. The body contour makes it very comfortable to play. neck profile is very much like my 2011 4003. From my understanding the necks on the 4004 and the 4003 are the same now. The bridge is very sleek in appearance and makes for an easy set up. It looks and plays like I hoped it would! For sure my number 1 bass.....probably for a long time as I can't imagine another bass I would like as much as the 4004.

Comments about Rickenbacker 4004L Laredo Electric Bass:

Amazing bass, it's a RIC. What else can I say. Fit and finish is perfect. Musicians Friend had it in stock, no 18 month+ wait from RIC. It was boxed in huge padded box in cardboard sleeve in case. Perfect out of case. Very happy.

Comments about Rickenbacker 4004L Laredo Electric Bass:

Bought this bass with a good coupon making it affordable. Only had it out of the case for 3 minutes before calling MF to return. You can rest a nail in the body seam gap on the back and there's a pencil lead size hole in the finish on the back. Within 5 days of my return it's up for sale again as a new in stock instrument. Don't buy this bass.

I collect a lot of different guitars and have always wanted a Ric. Finally I broke down and did it. I just jam around the house.

Comments about Rickenbacker 4004L Laredo Electric Bass:

The 4004 Rick basses are improved versions of the 4003 which are great basses in their own right . The tone on these instruments I feel are far superior and yet STILL has that unmistakable "Rick" sound.
