I have this series bass in a white color. I like to experiment and think outside the box being a bassist for 25 years, so I changed out the regular 45-105 gauge strings and added some piccolo strings on it! (The 34" scale is a plus too!!) I play through a Beringer "UltraBass" 400W head, and two 2x10 cabs made by Peavey and Gallien-Kruger, a Zoom Z-3 Multi-effects processor/looper(with software), a Digitech BP-200, an Electroharmonix "Phaser/Flanger" Pedal, and a Dunlop CryBaby Wah Bass Pedal. There is VERY LITTLE adjustments I had to make to enjoy this bass....AND THAT'S WITHOUT ALL OF THE PEDALS!!!! The tone is crisp, and clear with lots of clarity that I need for soloing...(I'm a heavy Victor Wooten/Stanley Clarke/Marcus Miller/Jaco Pastorius fan). Yes, there is a little fret noise that you encounter, but it can be fixed with a noise gate on a good effects pedal, not to mention adjusting the action or height of the strings on the neck. As one of the earlier comments stated, "you do get what you pay for"....but if you don't mind adding a little more than what you bargained for, it's worth every cent that you spent on it!!! This is a good bass for beginners or professionals, in my opinion, but just like any instrument you play, it's up to YOU to make it sound worth something!!! Peace & Love!!!

I bought this after reading good reviews and watching a video on how it played. I wanted a secondary bass that I could leave in Drop C tuning for harder rock and metal. My main bass is much different and is a jazzier and blues style, so I needed something different. I figured this one would make the cut since it had everything I was looking for in a bass at a great price.

This is a good instance of where you get what you payed for. Some products are inexpensive, and some are cheap. This, however, is cheap.

When it arrived, the first thing I noticed was it wasnt the right color. I ordered the dark blue that I had seen all over the internet. Upon opening the box, my bass was a very light, almost sky blue, which is definitely not what I ordered or what was advertised. But it wasnt a huge deal, so I put that aside. Then I noticed the condition it was in. There were a couple of dings and scratches in the finish, and it was covered in a good layer of dust and grime. Flipping to the back of the bass, there was a sticker that said "Assembled in 2008". I think that was where I shouldve turned away and sent it back, but I didnt. My mistake. I mustve gotten an old model or a "bottom of the pile" that had been shipped and returned a few times that they wanted to get rid of. I cleaned off the finish and whiped it down. I was feeling better about it now, so I plugged it up. I was aware from other reviews that the pickups are weak, and mine was definitely no exception. I had to turn my amps volume to max and the pickups all the way up to get it to the volume I wanted. After getting considerable fret buzz, I messed with the action for a while. I got it to where I liked, but still got alot of fret buzz. I inspected the fretboard only to find it was cheaply made. The board itself wasnt very flat. There were a few dips and bumps. In additon to that, the frets themselves were very cheap. None were uniform or even at all. Several were almost flush with the wood while others stuck out too far, some were round-edged while some were squared almost. It took a few hours of sanding and testing and tweaking to get it into playing condition. After that, I couldnt return it so I decided to ahead, I mean, for the price I payed, why not?

I stopped by my music store and bought a set a heavy guage DR-DDT strings, put them on, and tuned it down to Drop C. I messed with the amp setting for a while and I started to like it. Though weak and not very clear, the pickups do growl with a very gritty tone, perfect for the playing application I wanted. The highs and mids project with a solid low-end. I may end up swapping out the pickups for more power and clarity.

I regret not returning it for a better model, but for now, I reasonably pleased with how it plays after I've broken it in.
For the price, it has some pretty good features such as a P/J configuration and black hardware.

Not a bad beginner bass. I haven't really touched one since I was 17 (let's just say that was a very long time ago), and I wanted to really learn how to play. I've been using Rocksmith and this works well with it, no problems there. My only complaint was the terrible buzz on E-string. I had to take it to the local guitar shop to have it set-up professionally. Basically, add 40 clams or so to the cost. Even so, I think it's worth it to learn or practice with.

The thing is a blast to play! My only bad comment about it is that the electronics are not connected properly. None of the knobs work as they should, so I'm going to have to rewire the bass. Luckily for me, I'm experienced doing that sort of work. So, it's no big deal. If I was a beginner or had never opened a guitar before I would be very upset. But all in all, it's a fantastic instrument, and I love playing it.

Comments about Rogue LX200B Series III Electric Bass Guitar:

This was my very first bass seven years ago. While I have moved up since then, I do keep this one around for noodling on. While it isn't the best one out there, it isn't all that bad, especially for just starting out. Running it through a Rumble 75 yields a pretty good sound, and the P and J pickups, while not the highest quality, have a nice tone range. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who's starting out on bass or is on a budget. It certainly gets the job done.

Comments about Rogue LX200B Series III Electric Bass Guitar:

I bought this bass because well, I just needed a new one since mine currently has some problems that I need to fix up. Being that I play mostly heavy metal, metal and punk, I thought this bass would be a good idea. I was partially right. I should also mention that I bought colored strings to go with it because I simply liked the look.

When my bass got here, I took it out of the box and decided to change the strings. Much harder that expected. The string holes in the bridge are smaller than your average string so putting my new strings in was a pain.

Along with the string problem, the truss rod needed to be elevated more. And that resulted in having to take the D-string off of the nut and unscrew part of the headstock, just to get to the truss rod. When I actually got to the truss rod, that thing was covered in dust and not to mention I could barely fit the Allen wrench into the rod.

After that was fixed, my bass was ready to go. So, despite the problems - I would recommend this bass to someone who knows what they're doing or someone who knows a good place to get their bass fixed if it has these issues.

I was a actually really surprised by this bass. I decided to buy it to record some bass tracks for a few demo songs I'm working on. And was definitely pleasantly surprised by the sound I can get from this. Not the best thing in the world, but for the money it's a no brainer. The only thing I would have to say is that the stock strings are terrible, but once you put some beefier strings on it, it gets even better.

Comments about Rogue LX200B Series III Electric Bass Guitar:

Right out of the box I knew this was the new bass for my band's recordings.. It might be only in the $100 range & it's not one of those "you get what you pay for" kind of vibes to me. It's more like "this is a new line of guitars by an underrated fresh brand" Rogue might not be heard of much but they put together a hell of an instrument for the price.

I've played it for a day now & started jamming on some songs I made, to my surprise the playability & action of the neck is awesome. Easy to maneuver, even with faster/more extreme styles of music.

The only con for me is the fret buzz, but that's easily fixed with the hex wrench provided with the bass (not as described) also coming with a practice cable about 4 feet long.

All in all, I highly suggest you buy this bass! Its playability alone will match any Bassist's needs, as well with tone. Jazz/Rock/Metal/Punk etc etc, this is a good bass.

            666/10!!

*Especially reccomended to more extreme metal musicians*
