OVERVIEW

A bass designed for the modern player with all of today's advanced components.

The Schecter C-4 Custom Electric Bass Guitar is a reasonably priced powerhouse with a modern body shape and beautiful Trans Crimson stain. Fully stocked with all of the quality components you've come to know and expect from Schecter like Schecter bass tuners, trustworthy woods, EMG pickups and shapeable 3-band EQ amongst other things.

Schecter Bass tuners provide high quality, precision tuning with minimum weight. The tuners feature a 17:1 gear ratio allowing for precise fine tuning adjustments, removable knobs, threaded peghead bushing, and a 13.6mm diameter peg hole.

The most common fretboard, Rosewood is naturally oily, and works well for any surface that sees frequent human contact. The sound is richer in fundamental than Maple because the stray overtones are absorbed into the oily pores. The neck is made from 3 pieces of maple and 2 center strips of walnut. This well balanced combination of select wood takes the bright tones of maple and adds a dark tone from the walnut strips. Often used for Thru neck construction giving the acoustic tone of the instrument a perfect string vibration transfer to the body.

The EMG 35HZ pickup uses EMG's "CS" design (Ceramic and Steel). The resulting tone is much warmer because of the higher inductance of the steel, and thus has a smoother attack and a flatter high end. All of the HZ bass pickup models feature solid bar magnets that cover the entire width of the strings so any string layout can be used. The EMG SJHZ pickup uses a stacked design with ceramic magnets and a laminated steel core for increased output and lower noise.

The EMG active B64 3-band E/Q was designed for contouring bass, mid and treble frequencies of bass guitar. It has a tighter filter bandwidth giving a more pronounced effect from each control. The mid-cut of the B64 is perfect for œfunk with its mid-range centered at a lower frequency. Both Bass and Treble controls on the B64 are more selective and don™t creep into the mid-range.

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research C-4 Custom 4-String Electric Bass Guitar:

I have a slightly older version, the c-4 diamond series. Has EMG pickups and just bass/treble adjustments, no mids. I absolutely love the guitar! It's very easy to play, and needed basically no adjustment out of the box. I can get any sound I want out of it very easily. It's never out of tune either. The finish is very thick and absolutely goergous. I get compliments constantly from guys that are way better than I am about how good it looks and how it sounds. Even had a couple folks switch to Schecter after playing mine. Couldn't ask for a better bass in my opinion!

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research C-4 Custom 4-String Electric Bass Guitar:

I orderd a Fender Standard P bass, When I got it I hated it, I called MF for a return label & the great staff suggested this as a replacement telling me that it was a customer favorite. I LOVE IT! All I had to do is tune it, the Ernie ball strings that came with it are a great match to this fine guitar. The only thing bad about it is the old school battery compartment but I still give it 5 Stars!

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research C-4 Custom 4-String Electric Bass Guitar:

good bass, but I had to purchase it elsewhere. First ordered it in mid-November, 2015 with expected delivery the end of November. The expected ship date kept getting moved back (it currently says Feb. 5 and I'll believe that when I see it) - about 5-6 times between November and the first of January when I finally gave up.

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research C-4 Custom 4-String Electric Bass Guitar:

I purchased the 5 string model in trans black stain at one of the local music shops in my area. The bass itself is beautiful and the combination of the EMG pickups and the ash body gives it a good snap. I've gotten the tones to do songs from Cannibal Corpse, Hellyeah, and Killswitch Engaged to Rush, Cage the Elephant, and Led Zepplin. Overall i love the bass and would recommend this bass for anyone espically metal bass player looking for some aggression.

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research C-4 Custom 4-String Electric Bass Guitar:

Very nice bass, the pickups are very nice, although there is a big difference in volume between the bridge and the neck pickup. The jazz pickup sound neat and the bridge pickup is very solid rock kind of sound. I love the sound in the middle. The EQ works great and the neck is flawless, no fret buzz, not sharp edges anywhere. I am a fender guy and I got a couple of MIM fenders and Ibanez with sharp edges or high frets, but never with Schecter (I have had three Schecter basses). I have not gigged with it yet, so I don't know how it responds in a live situation. the Ash tone is my favorite. A con is that the finish is very light and that wood chips really easy (mine had a small chip the first day just from lightly hitting my practice chair). I don't mind it, it is nice. It is not superbeautiful, the pictures are very accurate so decide for yourself. I recommend it.
