Played a 5 string jazz bass, neck was too fat and thick for me, and the action was too high. Tried a Schecter Stilleto(5) the neck was awesome.Bass was too heavy. Then tried a Schecter Damien(4)loved that too! but wanted a 5 string.Played all of these through an Ampeg SVT Pro with an 8/10 cab, had the amp set flat so I could work the e/q. The Omen Extreme has the same volume & e/q set up as the Damien & Stiletto, but has Schecter's own p/u's. They sound awesome, you can dial up old school thump, slap happy funk, metal mayhem or whatever you like. This bass is loud & proud. This is one rockin bass for an unbelievable price.Schecter's attention to detail is great, this bass is much lighter than expected(easy on the shoulder during long sessions).I'm playing it through an older Peavy 300 watt head with a 1/15 cab & a 2/10 cab, sounds great. At this price don't think, buy it!!!
I've seen and played a ton of axes, and have rarely seen a bass of such high quality at any price. Highly impressed with Schecter's attention to the fine details. Seymour Duncan pick-ups, custom TonePro bridge, Grover tuners...I could rave on, but suffice it to say if MF has any of these left, you would be well advised to snatch one up. One major surprise was the flame maple top and mahogany body. They are both one piece of wood, not split, and the flame is actually a quilted maple, 1/8" thick!
Just got this bass.Incredible bang for buck.I play contemporary christian praise.I needed to step to a 5 string.Saw this on clearance and wow what a bass.Setup was spot on out of the box.I have a fuzed neck and its weight was OK too.Tones can be shaped asya please with the EQ.Just a great bass for the bucks!
