Active eq. Great tone. Great feel. Slapped some extra heavy ddts on it and had it set up. Love it. Drop A rumbles through the SVT.
Compared to other basses it feels built well.
Got a price match so i got it for almost nothing.

I bought this as a second instrument to practice with when it was too expensive to ship my own bass.
The work on the neck towards the 12th fret is kind of shoddy, but overall the action was fine out of the box, no buzzing. Sounded fine in headphones through my GK-MB200.

Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Stiletto Deluxe-5 5-String Bass:
Nice bass. 5-string neck is a bit wider naturally, so an adjustment from 4-string at first. Now that I have gotten used to it I like the overall feel and benefits of the B string.
Only negative was the screws attaching neck to body on the back had sharp edges on the phillips-head slots, and it started fraying my shirt! I now have tape on them until I can get them replaced and so far no word back from Schecter on this...

i dont own this yet. i played a couple of them at local music stores and they all sound quite 'ducky' and i am not gonna get any good sleep till i own one myself. anyone wanna trade a 4string fender pbass for one? hehi used to be a strictly fender person. now i want a schecter bass. that kinda says alot right there...
Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Stiletto Deluxe-5 5-String Bass:
i have owned this bass for almost two years. I really like the sound and playability of the neck. i have had two problems with it 1 I had to drill the lower bridge to put light strings on it and 2 the lower bridge kept breaking my strings due to the fact that they did not sit down in the grooves and viberated until they broke. 7 out of 8 strings broke in the same spot. I don't play hard just play in church and a few gigs here and there. I don't slap pop or pluck hard. There is no reason that the strings should be breaking! I love the sound and the way it plays but don't like having to replace strings all the time!
Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Stiletto Deluxe-5 5-String Bass:
I own this Bass and right out of the box it played great. I play through an SWR amp and I love the way this thing sounds. There was a little buzz but a quick adjustment took care of that Plays like a bass that cost twice as much so if your on a budget and want a really good bass this is it.
Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Stiletto Deluxe-5 5-String Bass:
For the price there is no bass tha is better. Really hot pick ups and smooth action. It plays very well right out of the box. It comes with Elixer strings which seem to roll under my fingers more than other brands so a re-stringing is in order soon. The only down side I can see (and it is not major) is the neck is a bit thick and requires a little more effort to play. I have small hands but I can adjust. This is still a really good bass!!!
Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Stiletto Deluxe-5 5-String Bass:
Before I say anything I must say I have peculiar tastes with my basses. This thing is slowest bass I've ever played on. It is EXTREMELY buzzy. Almost no toneability and with it being unable to handle its own low nots I am sincerly ashamed that I purchased this. I had to use a drill to bore out the bridge to put light strings on it...pathetic really. Save time and money and just get an Ibanez. Any Ibanez (I've played 20+ of then) is better than this. If your pockets are really deep get a B.C. Rich NT series.
Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Stiletto Deluxe-5 5-String Bass:
Unfortunately, I don't own this bass. I played one at a local music store a few days ago and fell in love with it. Its a really great instrument, high recommended if you want that low B with really nice quality. Great for metal and even sounds good playing funk.
Comments about Schecter Guitar Research Stiletto Deluxe-5 5-String Bass:
Right out of the box I was impressed with this bad boy. It's beautiful to look at. the neck and weight is what caught me off guard though. Most 5 strings have really bulky necks and are heavy. The deluxe have a very slim neck and really light, sits well to the body and very comfortable. It's great for any style you can think of. I highly recommend this bass to players looking for a great 5 string on a budget and to 4 string players wanting the low b.
